Genius is inspiring to me. I believe there is a degree of genius in everyone, because everyone is made in the image of God. God is pure brilliance and that brilliance resides in everything He has created. When I see genius, I see God. Whether it be musical genius or academic genius. I know it when I experience it. I believe a better word for "genius" is "brilliance". There are many attractive aspects of God. But it was "God's brilliance" that first attracted me to Him. I saw it first in His Son, Jesus. He was preached to me and I was awestruck by the brilliance of Jesus. The things He said, the way He responded to people. God's brilliance laid hold of me that day and never let go.
