My downward spiral into the abyss of "worry and obsession"

I got consumed with concern and worry this week and obsessive about some other things that I won't mention.  All I will say is that it sent me spiraling into this abyss, cycling in and out of "worry" and "obsession", then "worry" again and "obsession" AGAIN.  Worried about some things going on in my son's first grade class and obsessing about work and money.  That was my week "worrying and obsessing".  It consumed me, I don't think I did anything else until today and I can't believe it's Friday.  The whole week spent in "worrying and obsessing" I Can't even tell you how badly I needed to blog today. This is truly my therapy.  Well I actually have a few "therapies"  If you haven't already noticed that I'm a mess, I'm sure I will have you convinced after reading this post.  Here we go!!! I have been watching a new Netflix series called the "Innocents", which I have sto...

Saturdays

Saturdays are my "Don't take life too seriously" day. Saturdays are my "Don't worry how much T.V. my daughter watches" day. Saturdays are my "Avoid cleaning like the plague" day. Saturdays are my "Don't worry about my family's nutrition" day. Saturdays are definitely my sabbath days.  See on Friday things are kind of tapering to go into my Sabbath day.  Like I normally don't cook on Fridays, but I do clean and make sure Noah is occupied with fun productive activities.  Sundays are like my jumpstart for the week.  I jump back on the cleaning bandwagon on Sunday, the cooking bandwagon too.  I'm back to doing activities with Noah and I'm thinking about the week ahead.  As God would have it, I do only has 1 day a week for a day of rest and thank God for it.  TGIS

The great orchestrator

I keep thinking about how God spoke the stars, the moon, and the sun into orbit.  I keep thinking about the great order that exists, even in the midst of a fallen world.  Sometimes we may not be able to see God's order in our lives, but that's a good time to think about the seasons that take place at the same time every year.  The leaves fall off the trees at around the same time every year.  How the days get shorter or longer at around the same time every year.  How bears know when to hibernate.  The mating patterns of animals.  God sustains this very delicate thing called life.  It is delicate yet precious.  It is delicate because it can only be sustained by the One who created it.  That's your life, that's my life.  Think about it, if God is able to orchestrate the various events and patterns that have taken place in nature and beyond since life began, surely he can orchestrate the right events in your life.

By Faith

Hebrews 11:23-31 23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's command. 24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 29 By faith they passed ...

Knowing your cycle

I believe knowing our seasons and cycles is really important to our growth as individuals but our overall contentment with life.  As a stay-at-home mom I have a lot of control over my own environment and that can be a good thing and a bad thing.  A good thing if you can handle coming face to face with certain struggles you have, a bad thing if you don't know how to respond to those struggles.  I think in the hustle and bustle of "single" life there are a lot of things that you don't have to face about yourself and therefore do not deal with.  But when you start a family and life slows down that all changes.  Here it is Feb 10, 2011 and here is what I'm reporting: It's Thursday and one of the 2 days a week that my daughter is in school.  In the past I have destined the day for getting chores done around the house, cooking nourishing meals, errands, and so on..............however lately I have been feeling like I'm on a hamster wheel and it's taking aw...
