A need......

Isaiah 9:6 For a child is born to us, a son is given to us.  The government will rest on his shoulders.  And he will be called:  Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace As individuals with different needs, we experience God in different ways.  Today was the first time that I recognized how wonderful a counselor the Holy Spirit is.  You need the Holy Spirit to be different things, at different times to you.  The Holy Spirit is God's Spirit.  As I prayed for direction today with some things going on in our business.  This is what the Holy Spirit communicated to me: "When God is ready to do something in our lives, it always starts with "a need".  He allows us to experience that need.  That is how it is when we get saved.  We cannot be saved until we realize our need for Jesus.  It is the same with everything else in our lives.  God has to show us our need first, so we can turn to Him and then...

Whatever you feed will grow

Life keeps me pretty occupied with 2 young children and a home to run.  I sometimes wonder how well I'm really doing in that area.  Only God knows.  One of the things that is on my spirit today is "Whatever you feed is going to grow, whatever you let starve is going to die."  Many dreams are aborted in this fast paced culture, because we don't take the time to feed our dreams over a period of many years.  We want things to happen so fast.  When they don't, we "abort" our dreams.  I always have before me a 10 year mindset for ministries and businesses.  My family is first priority in my life.  But even out of that ministries and businesses are birthed.  Now, there are only 4 things, outsid of my family, that I don't want to allow to starve and "die": 1.  WomenNTune 2.  My Book "Can A Mom Take a Break???" 3.  The Parent Support Group I facilitate at my daughter's school. 4.  My friendships with all t...

Zechariah 4:6 - Bible study

When God says in Zechariah 4:6 "not by might, not by power but by My Spirit says The Lord of Hosts".  The fact He called Himself "Lord of 'hosts' in this particular scenario caught my attention.  When God uses a specific title for Himself, the context surrounding the usage is very critical in understanding what He is speaking to us.  As I read this what came to me was that He is talking about His spirit.  A spirit needs a host.  Think about how we use the word "host". Like when you host something at your house.  You are welcoming people inside your home and serving them.  Our bodies can be used as a  host for the Holy Spirit or for evil spirits.  But, whether you host evil spirits or the Holy Spirit,  God is still Lord.  He is The Lord over every host.  But I believe He needed to say this because He is talking about His spirit here and Christians are, in a sense, "hosts" to the Holy Spirit. ...

Raw Human Honesty is attractive

God changes your relationship with things and people.  When God does this, you have to be willing to change your mind. Romans 12:2 New King James Version (NKJV) 2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God . I am in a place where God is changing my relationship with some things around me and some people around me.  The devil has tried to keep me from lining up with these changes.  The devil has told me, that if I change my mind then I wasn't really committed.  The devil has told me "if you change your mind" they are gonna reject you".  The devil has said "if you do this ministry differently, it's going to get you in trouble"  Right now, my body is trying to be attacked with pain so I don't get this blog out.  But as soon as I confess the bottom scripture over my pain it leaves: Colossians 2:15 New King James V...

Getting Motivated

I have spent years being motivated by many different things and people.  I have been motivated by trends of the season, by people that hold different roles in my life.  I have been motivated by happiness and I have been motivated by sadness.  I have been motivated by envy, I have been motivated by jealousy.  I have been motivated by pride, I have been motivated by curiousity.  I have been motivated by ambition.  I have been motivated by sickness.  I have been motivated by clutter and I have been motivated by organization.  The most important person I have been motivated by is Jesus Christ.  Most of the sources of motivation I listed above are really not healthy motivators.  Most of them yield very short term results.  I say that because I have wrestled with the Holy Spirit for years with the struggle of wanting to impress people.  I was concerned about what people thought about me.  I am a homemaker and writer.  I h...

Something is going to prosper!!

I did not think I would be writing another post today, but Ecclesiastes 11:4-6 is still on my mind.  It just seems like this scripture is expanding on the inside of me.  The scripture is below Ecclesiastes 11:4-6 New King James Version (NKJV) 4  He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap. 5  As you do not know what is the way of the wind, [ a ] Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything. 6  In the morning sow your seed, And in the evening do not withhold your hand; For you do not know which will prosper, Either this or that, Or whether both alike will be good.   This scripture has been on my heart for 2 weeks and God has been highlighting different parts of it every week it seems.  This week, what's really on my heart is "And in the evening do not withhold your hand".  I hear so much in this portion of th...

A special time for women

I am so excited about what the Lord wants to do in the lives of women. God has shared with me that He wants a time of refreshing to come for women. Over the decades women have worked themselves into a frenzy. We have managed to get our lives very busy and very stressful. It is causing illnesses such as cancer and heart disease in our lives. Stress is a silent killer. Stress is the root cause of many diseases. The disease itself is merely a symptom. It's not just about being healthy, it's about understanding how much God desires us to be able to enjoy our lives and have peace and balance in our lives. WomenNTune is here to bring women into a place of refreshing joy and peace in our lives. Would you join us? The video below covers the devotional for this week:
