Your helper

As I go into this day, I realize that I want to be a blessing and I want to bless others.  I want to be a blessing to my husband, my son, and my daughter.  I want to be a blessing to people outside of my home.  I want to live blessing others.  I want a touch of heaven on everything I do.  The preacher at church talked about how refreshing it is to use your gift.  Not only is it refreshing to you, but also to everyone around you.  Your purpose is intertwined with other areas of your life, it's always important to operate according to your design.  But you must first seek the designer and ask Him first to help you walk in your design, call on the Holy Spirit to lead you.  The Holy Spirit is there for you, He is yours.  He is here to serve us, just as Jesus came to earth not to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. Why don't we talk to the Holy Spirit more?  Why don't we inquire of the Holy Spirit.  It is written :
"And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you"
"“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me"
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you."

We know for a fact that Jesus sent believers a helper.  The Holy Spirit is a person.  He is suppose to teach us all things.  He is suppose to testify.  He is suppose to help us through the day.  We are suppose to call on Him for help.  He is here for us.  He is yours and He is mine.  Why not call on Him. Why not call on the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit even intercedes for us in prayer.  It is written that the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is not being utilized by the body of Christ the way it should be.  We do not call up the ministry of the Holy Spirit enough.  It is written the if we walk in the Spirit we shall not fullfill the lusts of the flesh.  Don't let the the devil tell you that you can't walk in the Spirit all the time.  Don't let the devil tell you that it's too extreme.  God commands us:  Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  If we want to be masters over sin and over our flesh then we need to walk in the spirit.  If we really want to see God's exciting purposes manifest in our lives then we need to walk in the Spirit.  Don't be afraid of the ministry of the Holy Spirit.  You can trust Him.  Do not be afraid of the ministry of the Holy Spirit.  Inquire of Him, put demands on Him.  He is up for the task.

Starting your day

When I begin my day with a fast pace and a mind to "get things done" it really never ends well.  I burn out pretty fast.  When I take a "rest stop" at the very beginning of my day with God and linger a little, the day always goes better.  Micah 7:7 says: Therefore I will look to the LORD;       I will wait for the God of my salvation;       My God will hear me.  It seems as if when I don't start my day with God a cycle of self-dependence starts and it never ends well.  When I start my day with God, dependence on Him starts my day and He reminds me during morning devotional time to lean on Him to get through the day.  It helps me to not get "caught up"  I pray that for today, that I don't get caught up.  Noah is home from school, not feeling very well.  I just want to lean on God and trust Him to bring her comfort and help her to heal today.  I'm praying that I to would...

Testimony - great customers, great tips, $400 refunded from my school, Financial blessings

I had to blog about this.  I couldn't keep this to myself.  Something happened a couple days ago.  Just to share a little bit of the backstory before I tell you, my husband and I had a huge financial crisis about 3 years ago.  Things have gotten better little by little but it takes grind, especially on his part.  He is a great husband and dad so he takes pleasure in providing for his family.  This is a great entry point into what I'm about to share with you.  As we were approaching the beginning of the school year there were some other expenses approaching as well.  My husband and I believe our kids should be involved in extra curricular activities.  As they get older we feel they need constructive ways to channel their energy.  And they need to get away from the constant lure of the Ipad.  This is a big challenge for today's generation and you have to be proactive, especially with your children.  Anyway,  my daughter wa...

Think before you defend yourself

I get on social media and I do my best not to be critical of anyone.  It's not my place.  I do find it kind of interested how personal relationships, insecurities, and hurts are expressed where the whole world can see.  Social media is like this enigma that continues to spark my interest.  I find myself asking "why would he/she share something so deep and personal with people who don't know them or even care?".  I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing.  I just find myself being very curious and intrigued about why? There is one trend I see, on social media, that sparks a bit of concern.  The amount of time we spend defending ourselves and our decisions on social media.  I get concerned because I realize that when we spend a "noticeable" amount of time defending ourselves publicly, it is a strong indication that their is a much bigger private battle going on within .  Social media speaks volumes to me about inner battles we go through. ...
