The Annointing (part 2)

I'm praying Jesus that as I type this blog today, it refreshes me and everyone who reads it.  Sometimes life makes us weary, Lord; but times of refreshing come from You Lord.  Refresh us with your Spirit Lord. We know Lord God that where your spirit is, there is liberty.   I pray that you use this blog to break strongholds Lord.  Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.

2 Corinthians 3:17

New King James Version (NKJV)
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Sometimes you feel like your life is closing in on you, if you have the Holy Spirit on the inside of you, You have liberty.  Liberty from your life and the circumstances of your life.  Don't let the life you live here on this earth create a prison for you.  You have to live above whatever is going on in your life and your circumstances.  Your real life is hidden in Christ Jesus.  Tap into it.  I said your true life is hidding in Christ Jesus, but you have to tap into it.

Colossians 3:3

New King James Version (NKJV)
3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

I had started talking about King David and "The Annointing"

1 Samuel 16

A Distressing Spirit Troubles Saul

14 But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him. 15 And Saul’s servants said to him, “Surely, a distressing spirit from God is troubling you. 16 Let our master now command your servants, who are before you, to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp. And it shall be that he will play it with his hand when the distressing spirit from God is upon you, and you shall be well.”

17 So Saul said to his servants, “Provide me now a man who can play well, and bring him to me.”

18 Then one of the servants answered and said, “Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the Lord is with him.”

19 Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, “Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.” 20 And Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine, and a young goat, and sent them by his son David to Saul. 21 So David came to Saul and stood before him. And he loved him greatly, and he became his armorbearer. 22 Then Saul sent to Jesse, saying, “Please let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight.” 23 And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.

1.  The first thing that stands out to me from this text is that the Lord can send a "distressing spirit" to trouble someone;  and there is a difference between the "Spirit of the Lord" and a "Spirit from the Lord"

2.  How did Saul's servants know that someone playing the harp skillfully would cause Saul to be well?

3.  God makes a way for David to enter the palace.  David had been annointed King, but Saul is still in the palace.  David's reputation preceeds him, Saul's servant said David was "skillful at the harp
, a man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person, and the Lord is with him".  Right here is where God gets me, first of all David kept the sheep.  When we are introduced to David, the bible says that he tended the sheep.  But yet Saul's servants said all these things about David, WOW!  As I think back to how they told Saul "Let our master now command your servants, who are before you, to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp. And it shall be that he will play it with his hand when the distressing spirit from God is upon you, and you shall be well.” I believe God was using Saul's servants to prophesied over David.  Oh my gosh, what else could this be?  I believe they were saying "This is what is going to happen when David plays the harp for you, and this is who David is".  They couldn't possibly know this unless God has shown them.  They said all those characteristics about David and how could they possibly know all that?  When we get introduced to David, that much information does not come out in the text.  Yet they said they had seen all these things about David.  Think about it, even when Samuel went to annoint David.  Initially, one of his brothers seemed like the obvious choice.  But David gets pointed out by God.  Here is is again, God pointing to David.

4.  Please know that, when the Lord annoints you, He is making a place for you in the place where you are to carry out your purpose, not only is he making a place for you; but he is using people to speak things over you when you are not even around.  People who you don't even know are speaking over your life right now, in the name of Jesus.

Think before you defend yourself

I get on social media and I do my best not to be critical of anyone.  It's not my place.  I do find it kind of interested how personal relationships, insecurities, and hurts are expressed where the whole world can see.  Social media is like this enigma that continues to spark my interest.  I find myself asking "why would he/she share something so deep and personal with people who don't know them or even care?".  I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing.  I just find myself being very curious and intrigued about why? There is one trend I see, on social media, that sparks a bit of concern.  The amount of time we spend defending ourselves and our decisions on social media.  I get concerned because I realize that when we spend a "noticeable" amount of time defending ourselves publicly, it is a strong indication that their is a much bigger private battle going on within .  Social media speaks volumes to me about inner battles we go through. A thou

No more feeling trapped

When I first started being a full-time homemaker, it became a snare to me.  I was very hard on myself and put alot of expectations on myself that were not from God.  My husband would get up early in the morning and go to work and I always felt like I couldn't sleep late.  Not that I got up with him but I remember feeling guilty if I slept past like 9:00am.  Honestly, I felt guilty doing alot of things.  Things that if I could of done freely, I would probably be a lot further then I am now in my writing and other giftings that God has given me.  I spent 2 days a week at home cleaning.  The other 3 days, I struggled.  When I would go to the bookstore to read, I felt guilty.  I would think "Is it fair that I get to relax at the bookstore while my husband out working to provide for us?".  Sometimes I would want to go to the Amish market and eat breakfast.  They had a restaurant in the Amish market with great breakfast.  I would think "Is it fair that I should spend mo

When we are troubled................

Have you have let the challenges you face, become a distraction for you?  I have! Matter-a-fact, I'm going through it now.  I hate it when I do that, because when you begin to let your heart become troubled about something, it's not long before fear begins to creeps in as well.    Then I feel like it gets hard to focus on the other things you need to focus on, and it's hard to enjoy the blessings that you have.  There is such a ripple effect when you let challenges trouble you.  It leads to distraction, then, fear, then it starts to rob you of your peace, your joy and if you let it, it can completely consume you.  God tells us to guard our hearts with all diligence.  There are 2 things in the bible that God tells us to guard:  Our hearts and our mouths.  We have to watch what we let come into our hearts and we have to watch what we allow to proceed from our mouths.  Even though we don't ignore challenges, it's important we don't let them take up residence in our
