The way God thinks and works is many times the exact opposite of the world. The enemy wants to get us operating as far as possible from God's grace. God is our creater. He is our designer. He is our engineer. He knows how to pull our heart strings. He and only He knows how to heal us in order to be able to walk in all the great things He has planned for us. Do you know it is "forgiveness" that frees us from sin and not "punishment". I'll say that again. Do you know it is "forgiveness" that frees us from sin and not "punishment". Do you know that it's "love" that moves us into doing the will of God and not "determination". It's not our love for God, but rather His love for us. Determination is not going to get the job done, your own will is not strong enough, and no good thing dwells in your flesh. So what are you going to turn to today to get you through? Your own self-efforts or God's grace? In returning and rest you shall be saved. In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.
When I begin my day with a fast pace and a mind to "get things done" it really never ends well. I burn out pretty fast. When I take a "rest stop" at the very beginning of my day with God and linger a little, the day always goes better. It seems as if when I don't start my day with God a cycle of self-dependence starts and it never ends well. When I start my day with God, dependence on Him starts my day and He reminds me during morning devotional time to lean on Him to get through the day. It helps me to not get "caught up" I pray that for today, that I don't get caught up. Noah is home from school, not feeling very well. I just want to lean on God and trust Him to bring her comfort and help her to heal today. I'm praying that I to would...
