Pursue your passions

In my life I have seen people pursue dreams and goals and it has resulted in much fruit. I have also seen people just talk about their dreams and goals and they have eventually fallen to the wayside. This reminds me of the following scripture:

Mark 4:15

New King James Version (NKJV)

¹⁵And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.

This is what happens to your seeds by the wayside. Satan snatches them up. This happens to many of us when it comes to the dreams God has placed in our hearts. Well, I'm here to tell you that this does not have to be so. Even in the midst of your busy life you can pursue your dreams little by little each day. Matter-a-fact, God wants you to do this. When God drops something in your heart concerning anything, it's important to take steps to pursue it immediately. I have just had a revelation about this recently. Don't wait until you have all the details ironed out. Don't wait until you have figured out how it's going to work. Don't stop to think about whether you have time to do it. Make a move on it and see how God moves. Kind of like a checkerboard. You make a move then see what move God makes. But you and God are on the same team, not competing agaist each other. One tiny step of faith can yield something major in your life. Tune in to the things you're passionate about and spend a little time on that everyday. There are 3 things that I'm really passionate about right now in my life:
1. Supporting other parents - I'm in the process of starting a Parent Support Group at my daughters school. The school has approved it, I'm just trying to iron out the details. My support group is called "Enriching America's Homes"
2. Making my own home a place of teaching, enrichment and discipleship for my children
3. Making my home a place of hospitality for those who need it.

What are your 3 things, or 2 things, or 1 thing?? I believe that God will move on these things immediately in your life if you move on these things. Think before you defend yourself

I get on social media and I do my best not to be critical of anyone. It's not my place. I do find it kind of interested how personal relationships, insecurities, and hurts are expressed where the whole world can see. Social media is like this enigma that continues to spark my interest. I find myself asking "why would he/she share something so deep and personal with people who don't know them or even care?". I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. I just find myself being very curious and intrigued about why? There is one trend I see, on social media, that sparks a bit of concern. The amount of time we spend defending ourselves and our decisions on social media. I get concerned because I realize that when we spend a "noticeable" amount of time defending ourselves publicly, it is a strong indication that their is a much bigger private battle going on within . When we are troubled................

Have you have let the challenges you face, become a distraction for you? I have! Matter-a-fact, I'm going through it now. I hate it when I do that, because when you begin to let your heart become troubled about something, it's not long before fear begins to creeps in as well. Then I feel like it gets hard to focus on the other things you need to focus on, and it's hard to enjoy the blessings that you have. There is such a ripple effect when you let challenges trouble you. It leads to distraction, then, fear, then it starts to rob you of your peace, your joy and if you let it, it can completely consume you. God tells us to guard our hearts with all diligence. There are 2 things in the bible that God tells us to guard: Our hearts and our mouths. We have to watch what we let come into our hearts and we have to watch what we allow to proceed from our mouths. The best fight ever...............

Marriage.................................It's not easy. It is a colorful creation full of ups and downs, highs and lows. And some desperate times. It cannot be done without God. It is His invention and only He can navigate you through it. But marriage is worth fighting for. You don't always have the energy to fight anymore and that's ok. It's ok to not be ok. It's ok to not be ok with your marriage. It's ok to not be ok with your life. Just know that not being ok, with your marriage, doesn't mean that it's over.
