Lets have coffee together....

It would be my hope that a woman is somewhere reading this with a cup of coffee in her hand with some soft music playing and quiet all around her.  Time to just be a woman of God.  One of the major things I've learned about being a mother is that you need to carve out time to just be a woman.  To do what women do (makeup, hair, chatting at a coffee shop, going out to dinner, manicures, pedicures)  As women we need each other and we need things in our lives that make us feel like the women God created us to be.  There is not too much written in the bible about being a woman.  I think you see alot about being a man.

Maybe it's not so much that it's not there, but we don't realize how it's packaged.  I believe it's much wisdom about being a woman in the bible.  Lets start with Genesis.

When Adam was created there was no other human being there, it was just him and God.  Adam had a job, he named the animals, and he had his relationship with God.  But God said, it is not good for man to be alone.  Wow, God said something is not good.  He said "it is not good for man to be alone".  So wait, Adam did not complain about being alone, He did not ask God for a woman.  He was not necessarily seeking out that companionship,  but God..........................saw that he needed fellowship with someone like him, but not exactly like him. Someone who complimented him and could help him.  What did God do?  He created Eve.  He created the woman.  When the woman was created, there was someone else there to have fellowship with.  The woman was created to give company and was created with company already there for her.  I'm gonna stop right there for today.

As women one of our first priorities in expressing our womanhood is to allow our presence to be enjoyed by others.  Keep others company.  And to seek out the company of others.

Get revived, get nourished....

Over the last couple weeks, the scripture that has been on my heart is Proverbs 13:12:  "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when a desire comes it's a tree of life".

I get so much joy watch people live out their dreams and purposes in their lives, it's my calling to be an audience to this, but it's happening in my life right now as well.  After years and years of waiting and allowing God to work in me, He has brought me to my desires.  Wow!  My dreams are coming true right now.  I want to say again, when God starts causing the things you have always hoped and dreamed about to come to pass, it's not convenient.  It doesn't come at convenient times, but that's because God wants you to lean on Him as you are living out your dreams.  I want to encourage you that when a desire that you have been dreaming about and hoping for comes, don't put it off because it's not convenient.  That desire is what God is going to use to revive you and nourish you.  I looked up the Hebrew meaning of the word "life" as it's used in Proverbs 3:12 and it means to revive, nourish, preserve, sustain, surely make whole.  Those are just a couple of the definitions listed.  But all point to the abundant life that Jesus promised.  Your dreams may start coming true at inconvenient times in your life but that's the very thing that God is going to use to revive you, nourish you, to sustain you, to make you whole............. But here's the thing, don't get stressed out about it and don't try to take over.  Lean into God and enjoy it.  So many times when we start walking in our dreams and destinies we get stressed out because at some point we decided to lean on ourselves instead of on God.  We start eating from the "Tree of Knowledge"  our own knowledge, our own understanding instead of eating from the tree of life, which has nothing to do with what we know but everything to do with Who we know and that is Jesus Christ, He is the bread of life.  If you wanna see doors open, it's all about Who you know and you only need to know one person,  that is Jesus Christ.  God Bless

Keeping it simple, believing God simply!

As human beings we make life so complicated.  We make everything about life complicated.  That's why it pleased God to save us through the simplicity of the cross and Christ crucified.  To some the fact that we can just believe on Jesus Christ and get saved, is foolishness.  The bible says the foolishness of the cross pleased God.  Why??  What can this tell us about how God wants us to operate on a daily basis.  Well, lets see..............He speaks about having the faith of a child in the gospels.  He says in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven we must receive it as a little child.  What does that tell you???  Hmm-mmm,  children are not worried about keeping a bunch of laws.  They are not worried about getting it right.  Children have awesome faith!  They will believe what you tell them, simply because you said it.  Will we believe what God says, simply because He said it????  Will we believe we are healed simply because He said it???  Will we believe that He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly beyond what we are able to ask or think simply because He said it.  When my daughter asks me for something and I say I will get it for her,  it doesn't always mean right away.  Sometimes, months pass.......and my daughter says to me "Mommy, remember you said you were going to get me this?"  Guess what, she reminds me and I get it for her.  That's why it's important to pray God's promises back to Him.  It's not for Him (he does not need a reminder) it's for us.  To remind us, that He will do what He says He will do

When it comes...

Proverbs 13:12

New King James Version (NKJV)
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.
In life we have hopes.  I also like to call them dreams.  Now, many times we have things lay on our hearts for years and nothing happens!  What you do with your dreams during that time is very important.  Don't let you dreams and hopes die.  Wait for them, they are for an appointed time.  Fan the flames by allowing yourself to think on them and pray about them.  You don't make them the focus of your life.  Jesus should be the focus of your life.  I am a living testimony that God will bring your dreams to pass.  It is happening to me right now.  God is opening doors of opportunity for me to do things that I have been dreaming of doing for years.  I literally have open doors in front of me.  One in which I have already walked through.  My first piece of wisdom on this, wait on the dreams that God has given you, they are for an appointed time.  What do you do when that time comes.  Will you delay????  Or will you allow that desire to become the tree of life that God intended it to become?   There is an issue here...................Blessings from God are never convenient.  I am at place in my life right now, where I'm kind of stopped in my tracks.  I have a lot of good things going on in my life right now and have no idea how to tend to all of them.  Even the dreams that God is bringing to pass right now.  I don't really know how to move forward.  I'm stopped in my tracks because I don't really know how to move forward.  Don't assume when God starts causing your dreams to come to pass that it's going to be convenient or you are just going to know what to do.  See God does things in such a way, so you will rely on Him.  My mind is brought back to King Solomon's prayer.

Do not fear beloved.

2 Timothy 1:7

New King James Version (NKJV)
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of. power and of love and of a sound mind.

How many times did Jesus say to someone "do not fear".  He does not say it in a harsh tone, but as a Father says to his daughter; "don't be afraid, I'm here".  It comforts the child.  Yet we do not let it comfort us.  We are children of God, let Him comfort you.  There are things we hold on to because we fear letting go.  We fear feeling out of control.  If you look at creation and the works of God's hands, you will see that He is an adventerous God.  He does not play it safe and neither should you.  The spirit doesn't flow in our "safe" places.  Get out of your boat and let you life turn into the adventure that God wants it to be.  It's ok................let go.

You know, there is so much I want to get done with my days and I can.  But I hold on to my bedtime.  I hold on to it because I know I will be up with my 9month old in the middle of the night.  But I really want to stay up and soak up the Lord and get some other things done.  I feel like my night holds my day hostage.  Meaning that, because I don't let go of my normal bedtime and trust God,  I'm not as free during the day.  Lately I haven't even been going to sleep even though I'm in bed.  I really don't go to sleep until 3am; when  get my husband takes over with my son.  So why am I holding on to this bedtime if  I'm not sleeping. Why aren't i allowing myself to live the way i want during the day.  I want to be free, free to live even if it means I'm going to be tired.  Being tired is a part of life.  We all get tired whether we are living our lives "free" or not.  You are going to get tired regardless, so why not live free and do not be held hostage to something that is not really benefitting you anyway.  Sometimes we hold on to things not because they benefit us, but more so out of habit and fear.  Fear holds hostage.  Let yourself live free, don't be held hostage to the fact you experience tiredness or exhaustion.  Don't let your body and any shortcomings hold you hostage.  Defy any condition in the name of Jesus that keeps you from living your life freely and adventerously.

Dreams do come true

We live in such a fast paced culture, where we want everything fast and if we don't get it fast, we give up.  In the process of this, many are giving up on theie very dreams.  The dreams that God gives us breathes into our souls everyday.  Our dreams are alive and they help make us alive.  You have to understand that even when you don't feel like you are living out your dream and/or purpose yet, you have to keep thinking about it; year after year.  You might not feel it but there is life there and life that you will soon realize if you don't give up and wait for it.

I have had a dream, a dream about what kind of family life I want to have, how I want to help other mothers, and how I want to contribute to the community.  That dream is in the process of coming to pass right now,  I have thought about these areas of my life for the last 5 years, and have had desires that just never went away.  So I waited as God worked in me and I asked Him every now and again, "Why do I have desires in these areas that just won't go away?  Are you going to do something with them God?"  For years I marinated in these dreams.  I did not share them really with anybody outside God and my husband.  I actually thought is was kind of weird to have such specific desires about family life and such.  But over the past year, God has been suddenly giving a voice to my dreams through the leaders in the Christian community.  All the sudden I'm hearing a Pastor that I don't even know talking about what I've known in my heart all along.  Things I've never heard anyone else say, except myself in the quiet places of my heart.

I'm sleepy and I don't really feel like blogging right now, but I'm a writer and I want to help people.  I want to be committed to helping God's people.  I don't know who this blog is encouraging.  My daughter said the other day to me, that a dream she had came true at school.  She said that dreams come true if  you believe.  She mentioned Disney World. Then I said that's what Jesus says to, that "if you pray and believe that you will receive what you have prayed for then you will have it".  She said "I don't know how to believe, but I just kept thinking about it and it happened and that's how I believed" Such simple wisdom from 5 years old.  The childlike faith that Jesus wants from all His children.
Mark 11:24 says "Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them"

Habakkuk 2:1 says "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, I will not tarry.

We have set down our dreams and ideals because the devil has told us that we can't have it.  We have let todays culture lower our standards for living.  Please reclaim the devil has stolen!  It's yours to take back in the name of Jesus. God can take you back to a place and breakoff every stonghold that has been placed on you.  Sometimes we find ourselves in this broken place not knowing how we got there, or how to put the pieces of ourselves back together.  But God loves putting broken people back together to use for His glory.  Matter-a-fact God only uses broken people. Matter-a-fact only broken people qualify to inherit the Kingdom of God and all His many benefit.  It's only for the broken.  Yes, dream coming true are for those who have been broken.

Forget not His benefits

Meditating on the Word of God brings miracles into your life.  God's word can frame the world around you if you Let Him.  Don't let your world be frames by what you see, let your world be framed by what God says.  I don't mean that what you believe will never be manifested and you just have to keep believing it until the day you die.  No, that's not how God's works.  Right now, God's word can frame your world.  He can frame your health, he can frame your finances, he can frame your promotion.  Let your world be contained in the Word of God.  Every week there are certain scriptures the resonate in my heart.  I don't always record them and allow myself to meditate on them.  This blog is my space of meditation, it is my space of pondering,  it is my space for dreaming and goal setting.  The scriptures that are on my heart as I go into this week are the following:

Psalm 23:5 - You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies
Normally when you are in the presence of enemies, the last thing you feel like doing is eating.  I don't know if I would want to sit down at a table and eat in front of my enemies.  First of all, God is calling us to certain posture.  If some body is preparing a table for you, I'm automatically thinking that it is a feast of sorts.  God is saying to me, sit down and feast on the Word of God.  Even as a I sit here right now typing, I have a sink full of dishes from last night, kitchen counters are not wiped, toys are scattered all over the house, and I need a shower.  But I don't think I can let any of those things keep my from feasting on the word of God today.  We have busy lives and it's not always easy to spend a lot of time studying God's Word, but sometimes God will call you to feast on His Word.  If He invites you to do that, are you going to turn down His invitation?  God is prepared a feast for you in the midst of whatever you are struggling with right now,  are you going to turn His invitation down.  This invitation can usher you in to another world, one that is very different than the world you live in now.

Matthew 22:44 - 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool"
Again this speaks of posture.  Not only does this speak of sitting down, but sitting down with a footstool under your feet.  I'm am finally starting to get it, that the more relaxed we are and at rest the more God's power can flow in our lives.  When we are tensed, stressed out, and worried; we obstruct the flow of God's power through our lives. You have to be able to let the Lord flow in your life.  There is a flow, so to speak, in the Christian walk.  But alot of times we see more obstruction then the free flow of God's power.  I believe the obstruction comes from us trying to do things in our own strength and make things happen on our own.  I believe it comes from trying to take responsibility for ourselves instead of letter God be responsible for us.  The world teaches us to be responsible for ourselves.  God teaches us that He is responsible for us.  He calls us sheep.  Sheep are not responsible for themselves, the shephard is responsible for them and assumes that responsibility.  The bible says that Jesus is the good shephard.  The main source of disease among Christians is from the obstruction of God's power their lives.

1John 4:17 - Just as Jesus is, so are we in this world
This is the scripture where we take claim on all that Jesus is.  We take all that Jesus is onto ourselves.  There are many exchanges in the bible.  Jesus took on our diseases, so He could give us His healing.  He took on our sorrows so He could give us His joy.  He took on our separation from the Father, so that we could be back in fellowship with the Father.  The bible says that every good and perfect gift comes from above.  Now, whatever we are struggling with; we need to look up that particular struggle in the bible and see what the heavenly exchange is for that struggle. Make the exchange, give it to Jesus because He will give you something in return.  See, when you give something to Jesus, He always gives you something else in exchange. You open your hand and give up what you have been holding onto, He will put something else in your hand.

Fun Fact - Psalm 105:3 talks about your youth being renewed like the eagle. What does God mean by that?  Well I found some pictures of an eagle as they go through their lifespan.  If you click on the link below, you will find that an eagle seems to get more beautiful as it ages:
