Jesus is willing, are you ready????

The world holds the Christian Community back in so many ways when it comes to faith.  I challenge Christians all over including myself, to start doing one very specific thing differently this year:  There are some ways in which Jesus wants us to live concerning our faith, that the world cannot receive and that the world would call laziness, complacency, irresponsible, weak. The world believes you have to work hard to get certain things, but the bible says that Jesus did the hard work for us and we just need to rest in that.  The flesh likes hard work, because it gives the flesh something to glory in.  Accomplishment through hard work feeds our pride.  Accomplishment through the finished work of Christ feeds our faith.  I challenge us as a Christian Community to start speaking in the name of Jesus to our sickness, injury, abuse, lust, addiction, laziness, chaos, bills, finances, bank accounts, spirits.  I'm not saying don't do anything.  I'm saying speak before you do, allow the work of the cross to be activated in your life.  The world would look at this as foolishness.  It is foolishness to those who are perishing.  The people of Noah's day thought it was foolish to build a ark.  Think about it...... Noah stopped his life to build an ark.  Him and his family stopped life as they once knew and everybody else once knew and built an ark.  It's time for us to stop living life as we once knew and as everybody else once knew.  This challenge is not for those who are afraid of embarassment.  You cannot be afraid to speak aloud to these things in your life, when peoople are around.  I'm saying that, because I am.  Fear has to leave in the name of Jesus so that we can take hold of what God has for us.  God desires us to live not a "natural life" but a "supernatural life".  A natural life is subject to the laws of nature.  Since Jesus is above the laws of nature, a "supernatural life" defies the laws of nature.  Some people are happy with being subject to the laws of nature.  But I have hit a wall and I need to be able to live outside of time and get some things accomplished on a daily basis that require me to live above the "law".  There is a lot to be done in my life on a daily basis, and it can only be done by the spirit of God because the pile is getting bigger.  It's to big for my mind and my strength. Look at the scriptures below:

Matthew 8

Jesus Heals a Centurion’s Servant

5 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, 6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”

7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.

10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! 11 And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

Peter’s Mother-in-Law Healed

14 Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. 15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.[a]

Many Healed in the Evening

16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
He Himself took our infirmities
And bore our sicknesses.”[b]

A couple points on the above scriptures
  1. With the Centurian, look how delighted Jesus is with his faith, it says the Jesus "marveled" at His faith.  Jesus marveled at the fact that the centurian said, "only speak a word and my servant shall be healed".  Jesus did not say that, but the centurian said that and it was done according to what he said
  2. What did the Centurian's servant and Peter's mother-in-law do to be healed.............They did nothing.  Jesus did it!
  3. Peter's mother-in-law immediately rose and served them AFTER she was healed.  She didn't serve before she was healed, it was AFTER.  Stopped trying to earn your healing.]
  4. People lined up to get healed and Jesus healed them, why are people not lining up to get healed in churches today?
  5. The bible says "He healed ALL who were sick" that it might be fulfilled through the prophet Isaiah :He Himself took our infirmitiesAnd bore our sicknesses.”[b]

What do we say to these things?  If Jesus is not willing to heal ALL who are sick today then what the prophet Isaiah said will not be fulfilled.  "All" means "all".  This is what God wants fulfilled.  It is the Lord's will.  It is what Jesus did.  Stop disqualifying yourself from being part of the "ALL" who were healed.  Jesus wants to heal us.  He wants to.   If you have Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then He lives in you.  If you call on the name of whatever troubles you, tell it what to do in the name of Jesus and.  Casting it down and bringing it into captivity to the obedience of Christ.  Don't let it hold you let Jesus hold it captive (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Ephesians 4:8

8 Therefore He says:
“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.”[a]

In 2013 I challenge the real Christians, to start speaking to your problems and telling them to flee in the name of Jesus!

Faith coaching........

I believe what happened leading up to the birth of Jesus, still begs further consideration in the wake of the New Year.  I don't know about you, but there are some areas in my life where I really desire change, where I really want to see things fall in order.  I'm going to call out some of those things right now:
1. I want more energy and drive to get things done on a daily basis
2. I want to be able to do more constructive things during the day with my daughter
3.  I want to be able to organize my mind and my thoughts concerning what I need to get done on a daily basis
4.  I want to see order being established in my home by the Holy Spirit
5,  I want to see laundry done, beds made..........
6.  I want to stop being guilt driven
7.  I want fruitless areas of my life to disappear and be cast into the sea.  That's it right there!

I WANT FRUITLESS AREAS OF MY LIFE TO DISAPPEAR AND BE CAST INTO THE SEA!!!!!

Matthew 17:20

New King James Version (NKJV)
20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief;[a] for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

I want to encourage you to get the focus off yourself and look at this scripture.  Look at this scripture without evaluating whether or not you have enough faith.

Look here Jesus is saying it again 4 chapters later:

Matthew 21:21

New King James Version (NKJV)
21 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done.

Don't look at yourself, look at Jesus.  Look at what He is saying to you.  Don't look at yourself right now.  The first temptation with a scripture like this is to look at yourself and question whether you have enough faith.  Don't!  Don't consider it!  Just look at Jesus and receive this word! I know I'm suppose to be talking about the Nativity Story but I sense a different direction here.  That's ok.   As you continue reading this blog,  don't you dare consider yourself and your circumstances, just look at Jesus.

Matthew 14:29
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,[b] he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

Again, don't look at yourself, look at Jesus.  It was no big deal for Peter to walk on water, but what happened when he took his eyes off Jesus.  I believe that when he first got out of the boat he was looking at Jesus as he walked towards him, but when he took his eyes off Jesus for a second, he began to see something else.  Don't look at yourself.  When it comes to faith our biggest mistake is to look at ourselves to try to determine whether we can get it right, even whether we can get our faith right.  Don't you dare look at yourself right now, don't you dare evaluate whether you can get your faith right, keep your eyes on Jesus and look at the scripture below:

Hebrews 12:2

New King James Version (NKJV)
2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Don't you consider your faith, keep your eyes on Jesus, He is writing the story of your faith.  Your faith is His job.  It's not your job.  When you read the scriptures above, don't you dare consider whether you have the faith to receive it.  Jesus is your faith (PERIOD)

A Nativity Twist

As Christmas approached this year, everybody was talking about Jesus's birth and the nativity.  It's customary during this time of the year for preachers to speak on these particular scriptures in the bible.  I have to confess, I said to myself, preaching on the Nativity Story again, but  God always manages to breathe life into the nativity story for me afresh every year.  This year wasn't any different.  Just as I was about to think that I couldn't possibly glean any other wisdom from this story, God breathed life into it afresh once again for me.

Matthew 1

Matthew 1:18-21

New King James Version (NKJV)

Christ Born of Mary

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. 20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Most of us know this story, but I want to focus on Joseph for a bit.  As I was thinking about what happened here, I thought about what Joseph must have been feeling as a man.  Think about it, you are engaged to marry this woman.  You are excited, not only about the marriage but also about being intimate with her.  You are excited about starting a new life together, starting a family.  Then she comes up pregnant.  Everybody talking and whispering.  Now I'm sure Mary tried to tell Joseph what had happened to her and what the angel said to her.  But I'm sure it was pretty hard to believe.  But the bible says "he thought about these things".  I want to focus here for a second, because Joseph knew the prophecy about Jesus, he was Jewish and he knew the scriptures.  I'm almost sure he was thinking about the scripture below:
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

, it says
As Joseph was thinking on these things  an angel appeared to him in a dream saying "“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Imagine what Joseph felt when he realized this scripture was going to be fulfilled through him and Mary.  He had read about this all his life and knew this was going to happen and here God is saying, not only is it happening, but it's happening to you.  Wow!  I imagine, Joseph started to bubble up with excitement and nervousness at the same time.  I imagine excitement was the overwhelming feeling.  I'm sure Joseph never thought God would use him in such a way.  As I think about it I'm overwhelmed, like "wow, God is going to use us to bring forth the Savior".  I pray you receive this today, because we have a place in this nativity story.  There are some of us, that know and love the Word of God, some of us that believe what God says will happen, will actually happen.  God is saying right now, this is going to happen to you.  I think about husbands,  I'm seeing the Lord comforting husbands concerning their wife's purpose and calling.  I see the Lord saying to husbands "don't be afraid of it, it's from me".  I see husbands being comforted in the same way Joseph was comforted here.  Joseph was told by the angel, "do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife." What is the Lord telling husbands not to be afraid of right now, concerning their wives.  There was a purpose being birth in Joseph and Mary's marriage before they were even married.  The same is true of many Christian couples.   But I believe some husbands become fearful about what might be happening with their wives, especially when it comes to God.  But I trust God will comfort them in a strong way, just as He did with Joseph.  Because we are still bringing the Savior to people today through different gifts, ministries, and purposes.  The appointed time came for Mary and Joseph.  It wasn't a convenient time or a convenient thing but it was an "appointed time".  Know that for all of us as Christian, married couples; there will come a time where God will impregnate the wife with something and God will expect you to bring it forth as a couple.   Remember women get pregnant, men don't.  Women give birth men don't.  But men have a very important role to play.

Children

Children are on my mind today.  I'm thinking about how society's views of children have changed over the years.  In today's society children are treated as burdens or inconveniences.  Children have been considered additional expenses in the pool of bills swimming around our homes.  There are parents that take every and any opportunity to drop their kid off somewhere for somebody else to take care of them.  I know that's not everybody and maybe not even most, but their are enough people that think this way to have a small influence over the rest of us that may not really feel this way.  I'm even taking a long look at myself and my own mindset towards our children.  I love our children, and they are a blessing in my eyes.  Having them around me and watching them grow; keeping them safe.......well it brings tremendous comfort to me.  But I believe there is a small part of me that is influenced by the part of society that says "children are a burden".  Things can sneak into your mindset without you even knowing it. Look at psalm 127:

127
Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.

3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

These particular scriptures are not bundled together on accident.  Here God is talking about "building a house".  He is talking about "guarding a city".  He is talking about "rising up early" and "staying up late".  He is talking about "eating the bread of sorrows".  Right after He says that He gives His beloved sleep, he goes into talking about children.  Why? How are these scriptures connected.  There are some obvious things here.  But I think there are answers right here as to why children might become burdensome in our minds.  I think one of the reason is that we have become to "child centered" as parents.  Instead of focusing on how God says children are suppose to enrich our lives, we are constantly focused on trying to make them happy.   But back to the scriptures.  Look at the 1st verse.  Are we trying to build a home instead of allowing God to build our home?  Are we trying to build a home without God?  If this is true in your home then kids will become burdensome to you.  To many people trying to build their home without God.

I know I might seem a little scattered brained in this post, but hopefully it's still a blessing.  I want to skip down to verse 2. The translation above is the New King James Version.  But in the New American Standard Version the last sentence in verse 2 says "For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep".  The whole verse reads:
It is vain for you to rise up early,
To [a]retire late,
To eat the bread of [b]painful labors;
For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep

The amplified version is below:
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of [anxious] toil—for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep.

The New King James says "For so He gives His beloved sleep".  But I believe the translations above are a little more specific, in letting us know God blesses us even in our sleep.  What is God trying to say to us here?  What is He saying to us as a society and why does this verse come right before the verse where He talking about children? I have always wanted God to speak to me about this chapter in Psalms because I see how all these things are linked together.  Studies show that as a society people with children experience less happiness now than they did many years ago.  I believe the answer lies in these versus of scripture.  I think for those of us who allow God's word to wash over us, we can be changed as parents if we just let Him give us revelation through these particular scripture versus.  Why do you think people shy away from having more than a certain amount of children?  But if you look at the top of this post, God says "Happy is the man who has a quiver full of them".  Most of us would not agree with that.  Most of us are saying "Not me".  In disagreeing with this point, we disagree with God.  There is so much that can be said on this topic, from people who have abortions to people who try In-vitro fertilization.  But I want to focus on why we are not the "Happy parents we should be".  I can honestly say I love my children.  I love being with them.  But I'm very tired and exhausted most of the time.  Which can rob me of the blessing that my children really are.  I think this could be alot of us.  We are just tired.  But, I am confessing this over my life from this day forth: "God does not want me to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of anxious toil.  He gives me blessing in my sleep".  In other words, God does not want me to lack sleep because it makes my work painful, toilsome.  He wants me to sleep, because blessings will come to me in my sleep.  Do you want your work at home to be joyful, blessed.  Then get some sleep.  Do you want your time with  your kids to be joyful and blessed, instead of toilsome and painful?  Get some sleep.  Stop worrying about your kids, about your home.  Give it over to God in the new year and be blessed.  Start sleeping, stop worrying and watch God bless you. Watch those blessings spill over from your unconscious sleep, to your conscious wake.  I'm telling you, try God in this and I bet you will see your homelife, your marriage, and your relationship with your kids transformed.  Believe God for blessings in your sleep that will spill over into your wakefulness, in the name of Jesus.  Confess it:  I will have blessings in my sleep that will spill over into my wakefulness.  Let this be your New Year's affirmation.

What are you really made of? Only God knows..

Psalm 139:13 - For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb

Isaiah 29:16 - Surely you have things turned around! Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay; For shall the thing made say of him who made it, “He did not make me”? Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?

Isaiah 37:26 - “Did you not hear long ago How I made it, From ancient times that I formed it? Now I have brought it to pass, That you should be For crushing fortified cities into heaps of ruins.

Isaiah 43:1 - [ The Redeemer of Israel ] But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.

Isaiah 44:2 - Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you: ‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant; And you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

Isaiah 44:21 - “Remember these, O Jacob, And Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me!

What are all these scriptures saying to you?  What are they saying to me?  Do you ever wonder "What you're really made of?".  Do you ever wonder what you might be capable of?  Consult the One, Who formed you.  It says He formed our inward parts.  He is our potter and has made and fashioned each and every one of us to function a specific way.  Consult with God so you can function the way you were designed to.  Don't consult  yourself, don't consult your friends.  God formed us, and we are uniquely designed on purpose for purpose.  There are days that come where you just don't know how much more you can handle.  Maybe you don't know what's left on the inside of you.  God can show you.  There is a scripture above; Isaiah 37:26 where the Lord is addressing Sennacherib king of Assyria.  If you look at that scripture above you see that God fashions all of us for purpose.  There is something specific we all must operate in on a daily basis, but only God can show us how.  When God speaks to you about your purpose you are immediately inspired and energized to do it.  All you need is His voice to speak to that purpose inside of you.  Because in Him speaking to it on the inside of you, He also speaks it to the outside of you.  His voice draws it out.  It's only His voice that can draw it out.

Building Testimony Part 2

When God gives you a new revelation about Him, run with it!!!  A revelation is a certain truth that God has opened your heart up to, in order for you to receive it by faith.  God works in you.  Revelations are specific to a certain truth and a certain individual that God wants to reveal that truth at that specific time.  That is why you can be reading the bible, the same versus as someone else and you can totally catch a glimpse of something that nobody else around you can see or receive at that present time.  It's because God has chosen to show it to you specifically, Halellujah!  That's why it's so important for you to run with it whenever that happens.  Take the revelation as far as God will allow you to go with it.  This is a part of building testimony in the Lord

Back to the topic of healing.  In my last post I talked about the definition of the word stripes in Isaiah 53.  Originally I said that we are healed because Jesus joined himself together with our hurts, bruises, diseases, illnesses, everything that causes harm to us; and took it onto Himself.  Which is true, but the word stripes in Isaiah 53 says that through the fellowship or joining together with His bruises we are healed.  But you see His bruises are our bruises, because He took them on Himself.  We therefore have fellowship.  He took what was ours, so what could have what was His.  Praise God!  Therefore because we have fellowship with His sufferings, we also have fellowship with His death, and fellowship with His resurrection.  And now that He sits at the right hand of glory, we have fellowship in that to, having been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, we sit together with Christ, Halellujah.  We have access to everything that is His.  When you hear from preachers that you have to have fellowship in Christ's sufferings in order to experience the power of His resurrection.  They imply that you have to do something to create the fellowship.  That is inaccurate, Christ created that fellowship already, he did that work for us.  When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior we accept the invitation into that fellowship, that's it.   When we accept the invitation into the fellowship, we get all the blessings from that fellowship.  Jesus is giving royalty in exchange for our poverty.  He is giving us perfection in exchange for our imperfection.  He is giving us Holiness in exchange for our sin, He is giving us faith in exchange for our fear.  He is giving us joy in exchange for our broken heart, He is giving us healing in exchange for our sickness.  This is ALL that He did on the cross, and then He said "It is finished".

Jesus's life began as a miracle and is marked by miracles.  Why did His birth have to be miraculous?  We could say that it was because man could not be presumed to have anything to do with it. We could say because it had to be God's own son who was sacrificed therefore the seed could not come from man.  We could say that Jesus had to be from an incorruptible seed which is why the seed could not come from man.  All these things are true.  But I believe we also need to believe in a God of miracles.  Jesus's ministry was marked with one miracle after another.  One of the first miracles being when Jesus turned water into wine:

John 2
2 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.
6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. 7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. 9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”

Jesus makes water into wine.  He didn't add anything to it, He didn't mix anything with it. He didn't even touch it, He just gave them instructions.  What are we to make of this?  This was one of the first miracles of Jesus's ministry.  But there is more here, this miracle is only recorded in the book of John.

According the MacArthur Study Bible the overall message in the gospel of John is "Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.  Three predominant words ("signs," "believe," and "life") receive constant re-emphasis.  It's important to view this miracle in context.

What is a trip is that they thought they were drinking the good wine already, they didn't realize there was something better to come!  Halellujah.  Not only better, but the best.

What comes to my spirit immediately was that the "law" is inferior to the "grace and truth" that comes through Jesus Christ.  It seems in these scriptures the wine they were drinking before they ran out could be symbolic of the law given by Moses, but the water that was turned into wine by Jesus could be sympbolic of "grace and truth" that came through Christ.
John 1
17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Remember this was a Jewish wedding feast.  The master of the feast called the bridegroom (symbolic of Jesus as a bridegroom) and said "10 “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”  Oh-h-hh- this is loaded up with so much revelation, it's not even funny.  But I'll just say this "God saved the "good wine" for us!  "Grace and Truth" is the best!  Listen, we are suppose to experience Jesus miracles as one of the means God uses to convey spiritual truth.

It's all real!

I'm so excited today!  I'm excited because the Lord is real.  His promises are real and His love is real.  Everything in the bible points to Jesus.  Jesus is the ultimate expression of God's love.  Halellujah!  I'm excited about Jesus today.  I'm excited because healing in the name of Jesus is real, peace in the name of Jesus is real, comfort in the name of Jesus is real, success and prospering in the name of Jesus is real.  He is real!  All His benefits are real.  I think today I want to talk about supernatural health and healing.  I believe that I walk in supernatural health and I believe my children come under the covering of supernatural health as well.  I define supernatural health as relying totally on Jesus Christ for my daily health and the health of my kids.  That means that God has given me some revelation on daily things I do and take to stay healthy.  That means that when something is wrong with my kids, God gives me answers on what steps to take to get them better.  It also means God inspires me on a daily basis on what is necessary to keep them healthy.  I believe God is doing this for me everyday, I believe it with all my heart.  God gives me wisdom in every area of my life.  Now in the area of healing. This is what Isaiah 53 says about Jesus:

Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed

In strongs concordance the Hebrew word used for stripes in Isaiah 53 is chabbuwrah and it says:
prop. - bound w/stripes
i.e. - (black and blue mark)bruised, hurt, etc

the concordance also says that it comes from Chabor and the concordance says
a pri. to join (lit or fig).  It also defines as fellowship with or join self together.

Chabor is a primary root word in Hebrew and I believe stripes as defined in Isaiah 53, in the Hebrew means that Jesus joined himself together with our hurts, bruises, diseases, illnesses, everything that causes harm to us; and took it onto Himself.  With that joining together with all of our hurts and pains, diseases and illnesses we are healed.

The ark

I just want to praise God for the ark.  I want to praise God for the ark that He used to save Noah, I want to praise God for the ark that He used with the Isrealites in the wilderness and I want to thank God for the ark He has used with us.  I believe Jesus is our ark.  You know there are many people out there that think God is out to punish them rather than save them.  There are people out there who see an angry God and not a loving and forgiving God.  But God does not desire to punish, He desires to save us.  There had to be a punishment for sin, because God is righteous.  But instead of pouring our His wrath on us, which He did not want to do, He sent His beloved son Jesus to receive the wrath in our place.  This is how much God did not want to punish us for our sins.  He did not want to pour His wrath out on us, but it had to be poured out, so Jesus took it.  So how can you refuse such an awesome gift of salvation.  We all need and want God, He is our creator and we yearn for Him.  He wired us to need to be in relationship with Him.  He knows that He did, that is why it is so important to Him for us to be reconciled through Jesus Christ.  Some people ask, when will Jesus come back? Why is He waiting so long?  How long is He going to let this evil go on in the world?  While the heart of God gets grieved, lemme tell you why He is letting this evil go on in the world.

2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us,[a] not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

There are people out there that have not accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.  God is being longsuffering towards those individuals, because He doesn't want them to perish.  He is giving them time to repent because He loves them.  Though He will not wait forever, He waits in love right now.  If there is anybody reading this blog who has not accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, He is waiting on you.  He lets evil go on and His heart gets grieved but He is giving you time to repent and turn to Him for forgiveness.  God is so loving that He waits.  We have an ark and His name is Jesus, get into the ark.  God's #1 intention towards you is to save you.  Get into the ark.

God's first priority??

I am extremely excited about taking this blog in a different direction and stregthening our faith throu physical evidence of spiritual things.  All around us is physical evidence of what God speaks about in his Word.  There is historical evidence of events that took place in the bible.  Studying these things is a very important aspect of building our faith. I'm going to talk a little about Exodus 25.  It is the chapter that contains God's instructions o
n the building of the tabernacle.

*The first piece of furniture that was made for the sanctuary was the ark of the testimony.

Exodus 25:10
10 “And they shall make an ark of acacia wood; two and a half cubits shall be its length, a cubit and a half its width, and a cubit and a half its height.

The first thing that stands out to me is that the testimony would be placed in an ark.  Arks have redemptive implications in the bible.  When God wanted to save Noah, he had them build an ark.  Concerning the sanctuary.  God said in Exodus 25:8:
"And let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them".

But their had to be an ark in the sanctuary and it had to be the first thing they made.  Why???  Could it be that God's #1 purpose for His people is to save them.

Genesis 6:13
13 And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.

*I hope we can see Jesus in this and we can see the relevance of this in our lives today. I'm praying God would use this powerfully in our lives.  For me, it just shows me that God's top priority for His sanctuary is to save us!!!

Building testimony

Building testimony after testimony with God is the most important thing.  True testimony is built on the the Word of God.  In my previous post, I mention how God had set me free in an area of my life that I had been struggling with for the 5 years that I had been married to my husband.  You can read it if you haven't already by visiting Get the Spirit not the Works.  Basically God freed me from the condemnation and hopelessness I was experiencing when it came to trying to be like the woman described in Proverbs 31.  He basically told me to stop focusing on the works and get the spirit.  There was a spirit acting through this woman and the spirit supplied the works.  This spirit is the "spirit of wisdom".  Wisdom is a spirit and is referred to in the bible as a "she".  So I started to look at the Proverbs 31 woman through a different set of eyes.  Now as I approach being a wife and mother and I think about the example in Proverbs 31, instead of focusing on her "works" I started praying "I need to get the spirit".  This is something that only God could work out in me.  So for the last couple days since that revelation, I've been praying that i need to get the spirit.  When it came to housework and home management I would think of Proverbs 31 and say to myself "not the works, I need to get the spirit".  And for the first time in a long time I was able to get all my laundry folded and put away in the matter of about 1 1/2 hours.  Laundry has been such a struggle for me, and really burdensome.  Could never seem to get it done.  When I got it done could never seem to get it folded, and when it was folded, could never seem to get it put up.  We were living out of laundry bins.  Praise God, I can testify today, that because I looked at the Proverbs 31 woman and praying for her spirit not her works, My laundry is washed, folded and put up. Hallelujah!  I was set free with the revelation, not the "works".  It's the revelation about something that sets us free, the works are just the fruit of your deliverance.  It's the revelation that sets us free, the works are just the fruit of our deliverance.

*Key Point - God wants to build testimony in your life.  When you read your bible, when there is a specific verse of passage that sticks out to you.  Focus on it, ask God what He wants to show you about it, then as you go about your day; think about the passage over and over again.  Talk to God about what you think He might be showing you.  As things pop in your mind concerning the passage speak those things out loud to God in a question form.  It doesn't happen overnight,  sometimes it can take months and years.  I started asking God about the woman in Proverbs 31, years ago.  I asked him what Christian woman were suppose to do with it.  I said God "What are we suppose to do with this".  It was obvious that it was impossible to do all that this woman was doing so God "Why did you put this in the bible?".  Now, years later He is showing me what to do with it.  Praise God!  If you really want complete deliverance from God, be patient, while believing that God will do it!  It won't happen without conversing with God daily about His word.

Your Testimony will set you free and others

Yesterday it was brought to my attention how powerful testimony is.  It's amazing because you could have been struggling with something your whole life and all you need is a word from the Lord.  God can speak one word and set you completely free of a stronghold in your life.  I'm reminded of a story from the bible.

Matthew 8:5

You cannot break strongholds in the lives of other by merely quoting scripture.  You have to have a personal relationship with God's word whereas it has changed your life.  The bible says that "knowledge puffs up, but love edifies".  People need to be edified, built up, set free, healed.  You have to have an aresenal of testimonies in your life.

Exodus 25:16-22

16 And you shall put into the ark the Testimony which I will give you.
17 “You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits shall be its length and a cubit and a half its width. 18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work you shall make them at the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 Make one cherub at one end, and the other cherub at the other end; you shall make the cherubim at the two ends of it of one piece with the mercy seat. 20 And the cherubim shall stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and they shall face one another; the faces of the cherubim shall be toward the mercy seat. 21 You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you. 22 And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.

These passages show me how important our testimony is.  It is the power of God in our lives to set us free and to set others free.  Trust me, the person who might know a little scripture; but they have testimony from the little bit of scripture that has set them free, will win more people to Christ than someone who knows the whole bible but has never been set free from anything.  I will be posting more later on how God builds testimony in my life.

Get the "spirit" not the "works" (updated)

I am glad to be back on my blog!  It's been a couple days, but God has taken that time to reaffirm certain things in me.  I am glad to keep breathing life onto the vision that God has given me for my family and home.  Halellujah!  Never be presumptious about how God would choose to package something.  God has deposited so much inside of me since I got saved more than 10 years ago.  He is still pouring such an abundance into me.  Praise God for His inexhaustible supply.  It makes me think of nursing my baby.   My son loves it when the milk comes out in so much quantity that he has to put less work into getting it.  But  when it is not coming out like that and he has to work a little harder to get it,  it upsets him and he cries.  But let me tell you, it's when he has to work harder to get it, that the body responds and continues producing milk in the abundance you need for your child.  Sometimes it's like that with God.  We love it when He is pouring so much in us at one time, and we are getting His word and His spirit in huge quantities.  But there are times when we have to pray a little longer, meditate a little longer, sit a little longer to get what He has for us.  Those times can be upseting just like when my son gets upset, but this is good in order for us to keep getting what we need from God.  It instills something in us that God responds to!  What a blessing that He works it out from all ends!

Real quickly I'm going to share about a revelation God gave me to set me free from something I've been struggling with as a wife and mother for some time.  It's Proverbs 31.  I have prayed for some years about "The Virtuous Wife" as described in the scriptures.  I have experience the condemnation, and hopelessness about being able to live up to that.  Many woman don't even like reading this chapter of proverbs because it condemns.  Who can live up to this woman.  For the last couple years I've been asking God why these passages of scriptures are here, and what should we do with them.  Well, God finally answered, Halellujah!  This is how He gave it to me:

First He took me to Ephesians 1:17
"that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him"

1. Wisdom is a spirit

Then He took me to Proverbs 4
"Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom.  And in all your getting, get understanding.  Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.

2. Wisdom is a "she"

Then He took me to Proverbs 31:10-31.  He told me that I have been looking at this woman from the perspective of "works".  I was focused on her works.  The law condemns.  Anytime we focus on "works" it's like putting ourselves under the law and that's why women feel condemned when they read this.  The law condemns.  God wants us to look at this women from the perspective of "grace" and not "works".  What He told me was that there is a spirit present here and to focus on the "spirit" and not the works.  It is the spirit that supplied for the works, it was not her own personal ambition, will, or strength.  There is a spirit here.  He showed me that this was suppose to be a representation of all that can take place in our lives if we let the spirit supply.  God is telling us in these scriptures to stop trying to do it within your own will and strength.  This is an example of what can happen when we allow the spirit to supply what we need.  He doesn't want us to get the "works"  He wants us to get the "spirit"

***This is an update to this blog post.  What I wrote in this blog set me free from something i had been struggling with for years as a wife and mother.  I don't want the enemy to steal the power from what was written here.  After I did this blog post, somebody responded with very lengthy comments with alot of scriptures.  It was obvious to me that the enemy was trying to use "knowledge" to rob this post of it's power.  That is not going to happen on this blog.  If this post has set you free,  receive that; and don't let the enemy rob you of the power of this testimony.  The enemy will use "knowledge" to rob your testimony of it's power.  This is my testimony, it has set me free and it will do the same for someone else.

I also feel encouraged to link some other resources to this blog that I have found so encouraging over the lasst couple days.

Wisdom supplies!

Lord God, I pray today that my words be pleasing to you Lord.  Lord I pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation.  I pray for favor today Lord God.  Lord God I thank You for the Spirit of adoption that I have received by whom I cry out Abba Father.  I pray for this spirit of adoption to become more evident in my life so that everybody knows you are my daddy!  I pray that I come to you as a little child comes to their parents in whom they place complete trust to give them everything they need and everything they want.  I want to walk with you from that posture Lord God and I know the Holy Spirit will do it.  In Jesus Name I pray.

There are many different spirits talked about in the bible and we should take heed to them.  Especially in our prayer lifes.  The bible says that wisdom comes from a spirit.  Ephesians 1 refers to it as the spirit of wisdom and revelation.  Proverbs 4:7 says "Wisdom is the principle thing".  Then it goes on to say "And in all your getting, get understanding".  Wisdom is referred to as a "she".  It says "Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor when you embrace her.  So far we see that wisdom is a spirit and that wisdom is referred to as a "she".  These are very significant details and worthy of prayer.  This is powerful!  I don't know about you, but I'm lacking wisdom in some areas.  I'm lacking wisdom on how to get my house back in order after moving to a new state and having a baby, with a 5 year old as well, plus running a successful business with my husband.  I'm lacking wisdom when it comes to ministering to others.  As I read further I'm getting so overwhelmed by God's word, I'm tempted to stop my post here.  But I go on to say that Proverbs 4:13 says "Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her for she is your life".  SHE IS YOUR LIFE!  Proverbs 2:4 says "If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.  God wants us to make wisdom the PRINCIPLE THING in our lives. He wants us to have all the blessings that come from that.

Proverbs 31 has always been a stumbling block for women, because who can live up to that.  But God causes me to visit it today from another perspective.  Not to focus on her works, but rather on the spirit.  There is a spirit here.  All she does, does not flow from her own ambition or will.  There is a flow of something else in her life.  There is a spirit here.  The spirit supplies!

The law doeth but faith speaketh

Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the word of God.   People are scared to walk in faith, because they are scared nothing will happen.  As long as we are alive there will be some area of life where there is a trial or challenge.  Zero in on those areas and build up your faith in those areas, by listening to messages from the annointed preaches in your problem area.  See I've always wondered why different preaches seem to have a focus in different areas.  You'll find one preacher might preach about holiness all the time, while another might preach about grace all the time,  then you find preachers that talk about prophecy all the time.  Now, I know why.  These Christian leaders were put in place to deal with the diversity of challenges we come up against in our daily lives.  We need to hear the Word of God to be built up.  Reading the bible is not enough

Romans 10
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”[g]
14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

We need to hear preaching in the area of our lives where we are currently struggling.  I am in a season of my life where God has me listening to Joseph Prince.  He preaches on grace.  He talks about ceasing from our own works.  I believe everything he is saying.  Some of the things he is saying God has showed me years ago and Joseph Prince is the first person I ever heard saying these things.  He said that as Christian women we are daughters of Sarah.  Sarah was considered a beautiful women even in her extreme old age, so much so that Abraham felt he had to lie to people just so they wouldn't harm him due to his wife's beauty.  Well I've believed for many years that I should get more beautiful as a get older and that is what is happening in my life, but Joseph Prince is the first one who ever put words to what I believe in my heart.  I don't believe that any of God's people are suppose to be overcome by illness.  If you look at the bible, you never hear about any of Jesus's disciples being sick.  In the gospels Jesus has never said "no" when someone has come to him for healing.  I believe that by His stripes we are healed (period).  Do you think Jesus took all that abuse upon his body for nothing.  Joseph Prince spoke about the power of speaking.  He said that those who are under the law doeth.  But those who walk by faith speaketh. He talks about how servants and hired help doeth, but Kings decree (speak).  He has made us Kings and priets.

  1. Revelation 1:6
and has made us kingsand priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
  2. Revelation 5:10
And have made us kingsand priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”

Are we living more like "hired hands" or "kings and priests"?

One of the other things Joseph Prince said is that God does not respond to need, he responds to faith.

Romans 10
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

Going deeper in God's word

This blog is really a faith walk for me.  I really don't know what I'm going to say until I start typing.  This blog really feeds me and I pray that it feeds others as well.  There have been a couple scriptures that have really been blessing me this past week.  Some things I've been meditating on.

1 John 4:17

17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

As I read this scripture, the thing that stood to me was "that we may have boldness in the day of judgement".  Many times as I study the Word of God, certain statements within a scripture jump out at me and resonate on my spirit.  As I meditated on this statement I realized having boldness wasn't something I had yet to do, but rather something that had already been done.  The word "have" in this statement does not come off to mean something we have to do, but rather something that has been given to us, like a gift.  You know how sometimes we say "I have to do this" like "I have to finish my homework" or "I have to go to the store".  This statement is not saying "We have to have boldness".  This is saying we have it!  It's been given to us.  It's there, let it come out!  I had something to share with my church on Sunday about the youth, and I had only spoke this way in a church one other time.  Well I was a little nervous, but as I recalled "that we may have boldness in the day of judgement".  My spirit was quickened and energized to do what I felt God was leading me to do.

In addition to that, boldness has been given to us in Jesus's finshed work on the cross that in the day of judgement we will have nothing to fear.  Just as we will have nothing to fear in the day of judgement because of Jesus, we have nothing to fear in the world, because of Jesus.

The other scripture that has really blessed me is below

Zechariah 3:1

3 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.

There is no word in the Word of God that is insignificant.  Everything in there is inspired by God.  I want to say that Satan presents himself along with the sons of  God, which means angels.  Satan is a fallen angel, but he still presents himself with the angels who are not fallen.  The thing that stood out to me about this scripture is "Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him".  Satan was standing at Joshua's right hand to oppose him.  Why does Satan stand at the right hand and not the left hand.  Well, the bible says that Jesus sits at the right hand of God.  It more specifically says that Jesus sits at the right hand of the power.  The right hand signifies power.  It is where Jesus sits and it is where Satan opposes.  There is no insignificant word in scripture and there is a reason why God wanted us to know that Satan was standing at Joshua's right hand.  Sometimes we have thoughts that are negative thoughts.  Thoughts that are worrisome or stressful.  Thoughts that make us question who we are in God.  Thoughts that make us question our purpose.  Thoughts that make us paranoid.  Thoughts that highlight our weaknesses, shortcomings and failures.  When these thoughts come, stop and pay attention to where these accusations are coming from.  Pay attention to your right side.   It is where satan stands to oppose you.  As you consider this, there is good news.  Look at what God does in the midst of Satan standing to oppose Joshua:

2 And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”
3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel.
4 Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”
5 And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.”
So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the Lord stood by.

God has said that our righteousness is like a filthy rag to him.  So it makes sense that even Joshua, Moses right hand man, was clothed in filthy garments, because even his righteousness was like a filthy rag to God.  For those of you who think you are "good" people, your so called "goodness" is like a filthy rag to God.  Nope, there is only One who is good and that's Jesus!  There is only One who can make you righteous and that's Jesus.  If Joshua was clothed in filthy garments..................well, thank the Lord that even here we see God removing the iniquity (guilt of sin) from Joshua.  Joshua did not stop sinning, God removed it!  and put rich robes on him.  This is a picture of Jesus's work on the cross right here!  Receive the finshed work of Christ into your life.  Let Him remove the stain of sin from you right now, he'll do it.

Please, be blessed by this word today

Arise to the grace of God

The way God thinks and works is many times the exact opposite of the world.  The enemy wants to get us operating as far as possible from God's grace.  God is our creater.  He is our designer.  He is our engineer.  He knows how to pull our heart strings.  He and only He knows how to heal us in order to be able to walk in all the great things He has planned for us.  Do you know it is "forgiveness" that frees us from sin and not "punishment".  I'll say that again.  Do you know it is "forgiveness" that frees us from sin and not "punishment".  Do you know that it's "love" that moves us into doing the will of God and not "determination". It's not our love for God, but rather His love for us.  Are we able to fully receive His love, His forgiveness, and His grace today, so that we can walk in His will and purpose for our lives. Determination is not going to get the job done, your own will is not strong enough, and no good thing dwells in your flesh.  So what are you going to turn to today to get you through?  Your own self-efforts or God's grace?  In returning and rest you shall be saved.  In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.
