Pursue your passions

In my life I have seen people pursue dreams and goals and it has resulted in much fruit.  I have also seen people just talk about their dreams and goals and they have eventually fallen to the wayside.  This reminds me of the following scripture: Mark 4:15 New King James Version (NKJV) 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. This is what happens to your seeds by the wayside.  Satan snatches them up.  This happens to many of us when it comes to the dreams God has placed in our hearts.  Well, I'm here to tell you that this does not have to be so.  Even in the midst of your busy life you can pursue your dreams little by little each day.  Matter-a-fact, God wants you to do this.  When God drops something in your heart concerning anything, it's important to take steps to pursue it immediately.  I have just had a revelation about this recently.  Don't

A heart like yours

This year God has shown me the importance of lining ourselves up with kindred spirits.  People who have the same heart as us.  This year God has been taking things I've believed in my heart for years and lined me up with people who are giving those things a voice.  I've had many moments this year where somebody has said something and I've been like , "oh my gosh, that's what I've believed for years", but I never said it.  Sometimes we believe certain things in faith and we are not sure if those things are coming from God, so we stay quiet.  It's an amazing thing when a leader in the Christian community, people that you don't even know, start giving a voice to the things that you have believed deep in your heart for so long.  I'm talking about deep rooted beliefs.  That's been happening to me.  Now it's happening with my family and my home.  Things I've wanted for my family and home, the way that I want us to live, I didn't know

Luxury or Necessity??

There have been many times where I would wait around for my son to take his morning nap, in anticipation for my few minutes of quiet time with God, doing my daily devotional.  I almost didn't feel like I could start my day without it.  However Carson started taking his naps later and I had to start my day, without my devotional.  It's never quite the same.  My devotional time has always served as a guidepost for my day.  But I think I have started treating my devotional like a luxury instead of a necessity.  I pause at this.  God's word is the very life of my flesh.  As I 've taken more and more time off from doing this.  I have felt futher away from God's word. The book of Psalms is coming to mind: Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (NKJV) John 1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All thing were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made

Don't be afraid to be poured out for the right things

Being excited about the things that drain you.  Lord knows I have alot on my plate, and alot I want to do.  But the prospect of it all is very exciting to me.  I have a 8 month old baby boy and a 5 year old daughter.  Both of them are home with me, my baby boy all day and my daughter from 12:30 when she gets out of pre-K.  Plus I run a business with my husband.  I have a couple other things that God has called me to do as well outside of those things.  These are all very good things, Praise God.  Yesterday opened my eyes to something.  Yesterday morning as soon as we got up, I took my daughter out to breakfast, just me and her for the first time since my son was born.  Than after my son went to bed, my daughter and I stayed up an hour after her bedtime, snuggled up on the couch to watch her shows.  Adding these things to my day was difficult and required some sacrifice, but the Lord has shown me that these are the types of things my daughter needs right now, and it felt good to do it.

The difference between then and now

Last night I went to the eye doctor and found out that one of my eyes has a condition that has worsened since the year before last.  I was actually referred to a specialist. I was troubled by the news.  I started thinking about Jesus, and all the instances where He restored eyesight in His earthly ministry.  As I studied the different scenarios where He restored eyesight.  He did it differently everytime.  Sometimes He used spit and just touched the eyes, other times He combined His saliva with dirt making clay and annointed the eyes, and then in another scenario He simply said, "go your way, your faith has made you well". As the night went on, I thought more about Jesus's earthly ministry.  I imagined if I was living during that time,  what would I do, concerning Jesus?  What would I do if I heard of this man, Jesus who was healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, blessing the children?  I know what I would do, I would take my children and I would find out where

Don't miss your moment!

We all know life can be mundane.  Repitition and routine is good!  Perservering in the mundane is good!  Eventually you will look up and realize your moment has come!  What do I mean?  Well,  you have nurtured life all around you for many years, you have encouraged people in their dreams and goals.  You have listened and offered guidance.  You have celebrated with others in their moments.  You have been excited for others.  But there comes a time where God says "It's your turn".  It's time for others to nurture your dreams, it's time for others to offer their insight to you and help guide you, it's time for people to celebrate and become excited for you.  Over the years you have sat in a certain role in the lives of others and to transition to another seat, if you will, can cause guilt, don't let it!  You might be tempted to feel guilty about others sitting in a position that you use to sit in.  But the Holy Spirit tells me "Enjoy it".  Ask God t

What do you see?

First of all, I want to say praise God for all the hope, the goals, and the dreams that He has given you.  What a blessing!  In the midst of these dreams and goals we also have daily responsibilities.  We have a job, we have a home, we have a children, maybe an aging parent, we have alot to do.  How do we incorporated our dreams into this life.  I believe God gives us special vision to see ourselves doing what He wants us to be doing on any given day.  I believe He will show you a vision of yourself doing something that He wants you to do, before you do it.  He will give you an approach to take for your day, at the beginning of your day to make you fruitful and joyful. Let God show you what Jesus did for a blind man during His ministry on earth: Mark 8 22 Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him. 23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked

When God Calls.......

You can't ignore the messages that God sends your way.  They mean something.  Do you ever ask yourself "What if this really means something specific for me?".  I believe the Holy Spirit planted an idea if you will in my heart, something for me to start, a group.  As soon as the Holy Spirit suggested this 'idea for a group".  I was excited, I received it, but then the battle started.  You gotta know, that when God puts it in your spirit to do something, the enemy is going to come at you with every excuse in the book why you shouldn't.  He is going to suggest that it's not necessary, he is going to point out how dificult the process is going to be, he will definitely point you to your past failures.  But the great thing about this process, is that it's confirmation that what you received is really from God.  Our head gets filled with ideas everyday and not all of them are from God.  Well, when you have it in your heart to begin something new in your lif

Raising better children

What do we see going on in society right now?  I say this all the time, the devil hates you and He hates  your children.  There is an underlying issue in this generation right now when it comes to the purpose of "The Home".  All the responsibilities towards children in the home are now being passed off to schools, doctors, and the government.  But it's not the parents that are initiating this shift.  Satan uses the government to say "They know what's best for our kids" and this agenda trickles down into schools and the healthcare system.  At the government level it starts at policies, policies where things are forced on our kids without parents having any say.  Policies that say "We are creating a better future for our children".  Then we have teachers and doctors that are taught to think a certain way when it comes to these policies.  They are almost like robots for the government.  Satan wants you to trust the government with yout kids, Satan wan

Why do you take so little

You hear Jesus saying throughout the gospels "Oh you of little faith", "why did you doubt"  Well, recently I heard a serman refer to it as Jesus saying, "why do you take so little".  God's supply is inexhaustible.  There was a scripture brought to my attention below, a situation with Jesus and disciples: Matthew 16 5 Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. 6 Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.” 7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “ It is because we have taken no bread.” 8 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread? [ c ] 9 Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up? 10 Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up?   We need to re

Wait on God's timing

Something that has been on my heart.  As you enter ministry or shall I say wait to officially enter ministry, it is important that you do it in God's timing and not your own.  I have experienced the pitfalls of allowing others as well as yourself to determine this timing rather than God.  I really don't believe in moving imediately on things anymore as it's dropped into your spirit.  I've been there and done that, and while there was some good things that came out of that time, I became the type of target for the enemy that comes from being rash, beginning things to early, and not waiting on God.  Take this as a caution, if you move to fast in your annointing, the enemy will have a field day with you, trust me.  I have 2 instances from God's word to show you: First, even Jesus knew not to begin before God's perfect timing: John 2 2 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Now both Jesus and His disciples

Unique messages for you

What do you need to fill your ears with during this season of your life? I truly believe that God has specific message for certain seasons of your life.  It's important to know what the nature of those messages are and to not cloud your vision with other messages. For the last 4 months or so, God has been leading me to constantly listen to messages on grace, rest, wisdom and faith.  The messages He has been leading me to, do not focus on works or obedience, but rather on God's love and grace.  Not to say that messages on obedience and your works don't have their place, but right now God has not given those types of sermons a place in my life.  So I have had to purposely avoid listening to certain teachers of God's word and I have had to be very careful about taking in messages for the lives of others and making them my own.  It's very important to know what God wants to talk to you about right now in your life and allow Him to soak your life with what He wants f

Parents

Those of us who love our children, are very protective over them.  When harm is done to them, we can become like a lioness, wanting to devour.  I say a lioness because as mothers we are extremely protective over our children.  That's good because I think it is an expression of who God is as a parent.  When harm is done to our child whether be through words or physical pain at the hands of someone else, not only does it makes us angry, it also breaks our heart.  It causes us great pain as mothers.  This week I had a painful reminder of what this feels like, but God has used this opportunity to tell me to think about what He must have felt as they beat, mocked and crucified His only son.  What I described about mothers above, is a characteristic that we get from God, so imagine how God felt.  It says in the bible that Jesus took our punishment for sin.  Knowing no sin, He because sin that we might become the righteousness of God through Him.  This is the exchange system of heaven.  W

Stop trying to impress others

I've always talked about how we are all uniquely designed to fill God's purpose for our lives.  That purpose is custom designed to fit us.  It's like the finest taylored suit, if you will. God created us to be something very specific Isaiah 29:16 New King James Version (NKJV) 16 Surely you have things turned around! Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay; For shall the thing made say of him who made it, “He did not make me”? Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?   I bring this up because the thing that most stands in the way of being what God created us to be is "trying to impress other people".  Having a mindset where you want to impress other people robs you of your purpose because it keeps you from being who you were designed to be.  I encourage you to examine the thoughts that pop into your head as you are getting dressed, cleaning house, doing your hair, getting something done at work.  See if "

Get coached to your breakthrough

There is something in my spirit that is getting stronger and stronger.  Jesus wants to heal us! And He want to do it now!  This is a continuation from the following blog post: Jesus is willing, are you ready? The power of speaking a word. Look at the scriptures below: Matthew 8 Jesus Heals a Centurion’s Servant 5 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, 6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” 7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed . 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go ,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘ Come ,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it. ” I want to express the importance of the words that this centerion used.  As we go into the New Year speaking
