Pursue your passions

In my life I have seen people pursue dreams and goals and it has resulted in much fruit.  I have also seen people just talk about their dreams and goals and they have eventually fallen to the wayside.  This reminds me of the following scripture:

Mark 4:15

New King James Version (NKJV)

15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.

This is what happens to your seeds by the wayside.  Satan snatches them up.  This happens to many of us when it comes to the dreams God has placed in our hearts.  Well, I'm here to tell you that this does not have to be so.  Even in the midst of your busy life you can pursue your dreams little by little each day.  Matter-a-fact, God wants you to do this.  When God drops something in your heart concerning anything, it's important to take steps to pursue it immediately.  I have just had a revelation about this recently.  Don't wait until you have all the details ironed out. Don't wait until you have figured out how it's going to work.  Don't stop to think about whether you have time to do it.  Make a move on it and see how God moves.  Kind of like a checkerboard.  You make a move then see what move God makes. But you and God are on the same team, not competing agaist each other.  One tiny step of faith can yield something major in your life.  Tune in to the things you're passionate about and spend a little time on that everyday.  There are 3 things that I'm really passionate about right now in my life:
1.  Supporting other parents - I'm in the process of starting a Parent Support Group at my daughters school.  The school has approved it, I'm just trying to iron out the details.  My support group is called "Enriching America's Homes"
2.  Making my own home a place of teaching, enrichment and discipleship for my children
3.  Making my home a place of hospitality for those who need it.

What are your 3 things, or 2 things, or 1 thing??  I believe that God will move on these things immediately in your life if you move on these things.  Matter-a-fact, I believe this so much that I'm going to ask you to send an e-mail to the following e-mail and tell me what is stirring in  your heart right now.  I want to pray for you and anticipate God's movement in your life.  Please let me join with you in this.  The e-mail is below:

I'm praying this message falls in the hands of some people who are really ready to believe God for some things.  I do hope you will let me pray for you.

A heart like yours

This year God has shown me the importance of lining ourselves up with kindred spirits.  People who have the same heart as us.  This year God has been taking things I've believed in my heart for years and lined me up with people who are giving those things a voice.  I've had many moments this year where somebody has said something and I've been like , "oh my gosh, that's what I've believed for years", but I never said it.  Sometimes we believe certain things in faith and we are not sure if those things are coming from God, so we stay quiet.  It's an amazing thing when a leader in the Christian community, people that you don't even know, start giving a voice to the things that you have believed deep in your heart for so long.  I'm talking about deep rooted beliefs.  That's been happening to me.  Now it's happening with my family and my home.  Things I've wanted for my family and home, the way that I want us to live, I didn't know if it was attainable, but God has once again aligned me up with somebody that I've never even met to say to me "Yes, this is attainable".  Pray for likeminded people to be positioned around you.  Pray for God to give a voice to your deep rooted beliefs through other people.  When that happens it makes everything you have been thinking and believing God for, it makes it all real in your life!!!

Luxury or Necessity??

There have been many times where I would wait around for my son to take his morning nap, in anticipation for my few minutes of quiet time with God, doing my daily devotional.  I almost didn't feel like I could start my day without it.  However Carson started taking his naps later and I had to start my day, without my devotional.  It's never quite the same.  My devotional time has always served as a guidepost for my day.  But I think I have started treating my devotional like a luxury instead of a necessity.  I pause at this.  God's word is the very life of my flesh.  As I 've taken more and more time off from doing this.  I have felt futher away from God's word. The book of Psalms is coming to mind:

Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (NKJV)
John 1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All thing were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

And the word became flesh and dwelt among us.

Spending time with the Word of God is a necessity, not a luxury.  We need to do this in order to have light on our path everyday.  It gets away from us sometimes, with the demands of our lives.  The enemy loves for this to slowly get away from us.  I pray that God's word lights my path today and your's as well.

Don't be afraid to be poured out for the right things

Being excited about the things that drain you.  Lord knows I have alot on my plate, and alot I want to do.  But the prospect of it all is very exciting to me.  I have a 8 month old baby boy and a 5 year old daughter.  Both of them are home with me, my baby boy all day and my daughter from 12:30 when she gets out of pre-K.  Plus I run a business with my husband.  I have a couple other things that God has called me to do as well outside of those things.  These are all very good things, Praise God.  Yesterday opened my eyes to something.  Yesterday morning as soon as we got up, I took my daughter out to breakfast, just me and her for the first time since my son was born.  Than after my son went to bed, my daughter and I stayed up an hour after her bedtime, snuggled up on the couch to watch her shows.  Adding these things to my day was difficult and required some sacrifice, but the Lord has shown me that these are the types of things my daughter needs right now, and it felt good to do it.  I was so tired while watching her shows with her last night, because I'm still up at night with my 8 month old, but it was so worth it.  Sacrificing time and energy on something of your own making does not make a lasting difference in anyone's life and is not worth the sacrifice, but when you allow the things in your life to be of the Lord's making, you start getting happy about pouring yourself out on a daily basis, praise God.  Let Him Lead

The difference between then and now

Last night I went to the eye doctor and found out that one of my eyes has a condition that has worsened since the year before last.  I was actually referred to a specialist. I was troubled by the news.  I started thinking about Jesus, and all the instances where He restored eyesight in His earthly ministry.  As I studied the different scenarios where He restored eyesight.  He did it differently everytime.  Sometimes He used spit and just touched the eyes, other times He combined His saliva with dirt making clay and annointed the eyes, and then in another scenario He simply said, "go your way, your faith has made you well".

As the night went on, I thought more about Jesus's earthly ministry.  I imagined if I was living during that time,  what would I do, concerning Jesus?  What would I do if I heard of this man, Jesus who was healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, blessing the children?  I know what I would do, I would take my children and I would find out where He was and go.  When I saw Him, I would call His name over and over again until I got His attention.  Then I would tell him that my son has dealt with a degree of congestion almost since he was born and I want the congestion to go away,  I would say my daughter has had eczema since she was a baby and I want you to heal her and the cornea in my eye has lost it's proper shape, please put it back to the right shape and restore my eyesight.  I know He would say, "let all this be done for you, as you have believed".  I can hear Him saying that so simply.  The bible would say "from that moment, my children and I were healed".  Immediate healing is what you see in the gospels.  So why don't we experience that same imediate healing?  I really meditated on this question.  Because I know Jesus would of done it for me.  Jesus has never said "no" when someone came to Him to be healed.  He NEVER said "no" He always healed.  He is the same Jesus today that He was during that time.  What has changed?  I asked God this.

Lemme share with you a scripture in 2 different translations
New King James
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

But the translation that really blessed me, was the one below.
Complete Jewish Bible
22 He responded, “Have the kind of trust that comes from God! 23 Yes! I tell you that whoever does not doubt in his heart but trusts that what he says will happen can say to this mountain, ‘Go and throw yourself into the sea!’ and it will be done for him. 24 Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, trust that you are receiving it, and it will be yours.

I like the complete Jewish Bible translation because it uses the word "trust" instead of "believe".  To me, trust signifies relationship in a more intimate way.  I've really been meditating on that word trust.  In light of this, I ask what's the difference between us and the people in the bible who received their miracles immediately?  I have a developing opinion about this;  The people that receive these miracles in Jesus's earthly ministry had not received the Holy Spirit, Jesus was not living in them as He lives in us.  This is one big difference.  Instead of Jesus's ministry being executed from the outside of us, it is executed from the inside.  Instead of it being an isolated event, His ministry is an ongoing
flow in the life of a believer.  That's why I love that it says "trust that you are receiving it, and it will be yours"; this implies something that is ongoing.  There is a work in the life of the believer that we must trust in.  Everything Jesus does in our lives is based on our relationship with Him.  A relationship that grows and deepens as time goes by.  While we experience the same ministry from Jesus that He showed forth when He walked this earth, I believe the difference when you have the Holy Spirit, is that the ministry is executed from the inside on a continuous basis, instead of on the outside as an isolated event.

Don't miss your moment!

We all know life can be mundane.  Repitition and routine is good!  Perservering in the mundane is good!  Eventually you will look up and realize your moment has come!  What do I mean?  Well,  you have nurtured life all around you for many years, you have encouraged people in their dreams and goals.  You have listened and offered guidance.  You have celebrated with others in their moments.  You have been excited for others.  But there comes a time where God says "It's your turn".  It's time for others to nurture your dreams, it's time for others to offer their insight to you and help guide you, it's time for people to celebrate and become excited for you.  Over the years you have sat in a certain role in the lives of others and to transition to another seat, if you will, can cause guilt, don't let it!  You might be tempted to feel guilty about others sitting in a position that you use to sit in.  But the Holy Spirit tells me "Enjoy it".  Ask God to surround you with people who want to encourage you, listen to you and celebrate with you and "enjoy it".  I just got off the phone with my loving cousin and she has so much going on already, but God used her to birth something in me and I know for a fact that she has the insight to guide me in it.  I just bombarded her with the steps that I was taking thus far in my new endeaver.  I felt guilty because I'm so use to asking others about their lives and focusing on what their doing, not use to focusing on what I'm doing.  But God says "enjoy this time".  Most of life is a valley experience, so when you are having mountaintop experiences, you have to enjoy them!  When God does something in your life where He is like "ok, I know you have been siting in this particular seat in the lives of others for a long time, but I want you to change your seat right now and sit over here instead"  don't feel bad about that.  When God changes where you sit, you get to view the world around you and the people from a different perspective; and the world gets to view you from a different perspective.  You'll also notice  that as you change seats, the positioning of the people around you automatically shifts, because you shifted.  Be mindful of the shifting, because it speaks of the roles the people play in your life during this particular season.

What do you see?

First of all, I want to say praise God for all the hope, the goals, and the dreams that He has given you.  What a blessing!  In the midst of these dreams and goals we also have daily responsibilities.  We have a job, we have a home, we have a children, maybe an aging parent, we have alot to do.  How do we incorporated our dreams into this life.  I believe God gives us special vision to see ourselves doing what He wants us to be doing on any given day.  I believe He will show you a vision of yourself doing something that He wants you to do, before you do it.  He will give you an approach to take for your day, at the beginning of your day to make you fruitful and joyful. Let God show you what Jesus did for a blind man during His ministry on earth:
Mark 8
22 Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him. 23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.

24 And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.”

25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.

What this man saw was very important to the process of healing.  What we see is important as well.

When God Calls.......

You can't ignore the messages that God sends your way.  They mean something.  Do you ever ask yourself "What if this really means something specific for me?".  I believe the Holy Spirit planted an idea if you will in my heart, something for me to start, a group.  As soon as the Holy Spirit suggested this 'idea for a group".  I was excited, I received it, but then the battle started.  You gotta know, that when God puts it in your spirit to do something, the enemy is going to come at you with every excuse in the book why you shouldn't.  He is going to suggest that it's not necessary, he is going to point out how dificult the process is going to be, he will definitely point you to your past failures.  But the great thing about this process, is that it's confirmation that what you received is really from God.  Our head gets filled with ideas everyday and not all of them are from God.  Well, when you have it in your heart to begin something new in your life, if you don't sense or hear any opposition going on in your mind, then it might not be from God.  But when there is a very real "voice" of opposition that pops up, that's a good indicator that God is leading you.  Even though we can't see Satan, we can hear him.  Normally Satan's voice is not audible, but somehow we hear him.  Just like we normally we don't hear the Holy Spirit in an audible voice, but somehow we hear Him.  Be really sensitive to the non-audible voice of Satan.  Satan will only start opposing you when it's something from God.  He is ultimately opposing God.  He just does it through us.  Even as Satan opposes you, somehow there is a settling in your gut that you know, what God has spoken to your spirit will be done.  Lemme tell you what happened to me.  The day I got this idea to start this special group, that same night I went to do my devotional and the scripture verse was

Judges 6:16

16 And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”

The Lord was saying this to Gideon.  Gideon lived with alot of fear and he saw himself as the weakest man in Israel.   I don't believe God would give me this scripture on this particular day by accident.  I believe He was building me up to do what He is calling me to do.  I'm going to read the story of Gideon right now, because God has something for me in it.  Maybe He has something for you to. Maybe you have been called to do something and the enemy is making you feel like it's either too insignificant or to big for you to accomplish.  Maybe the enemy is telling you that you are not smart enough.  Maybe he is telling you that you have never done anything like this before, or maybe he is reminding you of the times where you thought about this before and you never did anything, or you did something and nothing came of it.  Beloved, whatever the enemy is saying to you right now is a lie to keep you out of God's purpose.  There are many times where we hear the enemy opposing us but we think it's just our own thought process.  No, you don't want to adopt the enemy's thoughts as your thoughts.  When you are getting ready to move forward in something and you sense opposing, degrading, thoughts that remind you of how inadequate you are, stop for a second and realize "this is not me, this is the devil".  Once you realize that, you are in a position to resist him, and he will flee from you.  Once you realize that, it also puts you in a position to keep God's thoughts in your head instead of the devil's thoughts.  At that point you will move forward in what God has called you to do

Raising better children

What do we see going on in society right now?  I say this all the time, the devil hates you and He hates  your children.  There is an underlying issue in this generation right now when it comes to the purpose of "The Home".  All the responsibilities towards children in the home are now being passed off to schools, doctors, and the government.  But it's not the parents that are initiating this shift.  Satan uses the government to say "They know what's best for our kids" and this agenda trickles down into schools and the healthcare system.  At the government level it starts at policies, policies where things are forced on our kids without parents having any say.  Policies that say "We are creating a better future for our children".  Then we have teachers and doctors that are taught to think a certain way when it comes to these policies.  They are almost like robots for the government.  Satan wants you to trust the government with yout kids, Satan wants  you to trust the school with your children, he wants you to trust doctors with your kids.  He is happy with you trusting anybody but God to give you wisdom on how to raise your children and what  your children need.  There are policies trickling down from the highest levels in government that are robbing parents of their power and authority in the lives of their children and we don't even know it.  They send a message that says "I know what your children need better than you" and we believe it.  So we start relinquishing our own power and influence in our children's life.  This attitude is producing kids, who will grow into adults that don't know how to handle all the resentment and anger they have because their needs never got met in their home when they were growing up.  Don't you dare think that can't happen to your child.  It absolutly can.  Don't you dare think that your child cannot grow into the adult that goes and shoots up a classroom full of 5 yr olds.  It could be your child, it could be mine if I choose not to be the parent that they need me to be, if I choose to let the government, the schoolhouse, and the doctors to parent them.  I haven't spoken this way in a long time, and I know people don't want to hear this.  But I have to say it for myself annd every parent who loves their children.  You want to know how to stop some of this senseless violence, it starts at home with our own children.  It starts by taking our authority back as parents.  It starts at home and if you wanna be the major influence in the life of your child, you are going to have to make the sacrifices that are necessary at home

Why do you take so little

You hear Jesus saying throughout the gospels "Oh you of little faith", "why did you doubt"  Well, recently I heard a serman refer to it as Jesus saying, "why do you take so little".  God's supply is inexhaustible.  There was a scripture brought to my attention below, a situation with Jesus and disciples:
Matthew 16
5 Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. 6 Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”

7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have taken no bread.”

8 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?[c] 9 Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up? 10 Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up?

We need to remember the miracles that Jesus did in the bible we need to remember that people ate as much as they wanted when Jesus provided:

John 6:11

11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples[a] to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.

Why do we act like Jesus only wants to give us just enough, "no, He gives us in excess, he gives us until we are full.  So take and eat until the full.

Jesus never says "why do you take so much"  no he says "why do you take so little"  It is an insult to God, if you will, to behave as if he the whole earth is not His and the fullness thereof.  Everything belongs to Him, trust me.  It may not always appear as if everything belongs to Him, but it does.  Stop acting like your Father is not the richest person on the face of the earth.

Wait on God's timing

Something that has been on my heart.  As you enter ministry or shall I say wait to officially enter ministry, it is important that you do it in God's timing and not your own.  I have experienced the pitfalls of allowing others as well as yourself to determine this timing rather than God.  I really don't believe in moving imediately on things anymore as it's dropped into your spirit.  I've been there and done that, and while there was some good things that came out of that time, I became the type of target for the enemy that comes from being rash, beginning things to early, and not waiting on God.  Take this as a caution, if you move to fast in your annointing, the enemy will have a field day with you, trust me.  I have 2 instances from God's word to show you:

First, even Jesus knew not to begin before God's perfect timing:
John 2
2 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”

4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet

come.”

Take a cue here, where Jesus says "My hour has not yet come".  Every piece of research I've done concerning this verse of scripture indicates that Jesus was referring to the start of His public ministry.  Even Jesus respected the timing of God.

Here's another scripture that shows what can happen: if you step out too soon, trying to do what you see other people doing:

Acts 19

Miracles Glorify Christ

11 Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. 13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We[a] exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” 14 Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”

16 Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered[b] them, and prevailed against them,[c] so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Wait on God's timing.  Take this as a caution.  I have experienced it, I know what I'm talking about because I have gone through it myself.

Unique messages for you

What do you need to fill your ears with during this season of your life?

I truly believe that God has specific message for certain seasons of your life.  It's important to know what the nature of those messages are and to not cloud your vision with other messages.

For the last 4 months or so, God has been leading me to constantly listen to messages on grace, rest, wisdom and faith.  The messages He has been leading me to, do not focus on works or obedience, but rather on God's love and grace.  Not to say that messages on obedience and your works don't have their place, but right now God has not given those types of sermons a place in my life.  So I have had to purposely avoid listening to certain teachers of God's word and I have had to be very careful about taking in messages for the lives of others and making them my own.  It's very important to know what God wants to talk to you about right now in your life and allow Him to soak your life with what He wants for you right now, don't allow messages in that are not focused on where God has you focused to come in.  Very important, very important.

Another real important point that I am battling with right now, is not to live out past glories in my present life.  Don't try to be the person you were 3 years ago, no matter how many good things you were doing back then.  Lemme give a very real example.  I have an 8 month old son and a 5 year old daughter.  Before my son was born, when my daughter was younger I was very into doing planned out education actitivites with her at home.  I mean I would plan at least 1 hour worth of planned activities, a day, where she would do  crafts, and other manipulatives to teach her letters and numbers. Even as a baby I had her in little gym classes, I did mommy and me stuff, I was in MOPS, playgroups you name it.  She had a lot of structure.  Well, recently God keeps telling me not to try to be the mother that I was with one kid, with 2 kids.   You are trying to be somebody who had one child, that person is not going to work with 2 kids.  He almost presents it to me like it's 2 different people.  "Don't try to be the mother that you were with one child".  The hard but blessed thing about that, is that it's like starting all over.  Because you are like "Well, what kind of mother should I be?  I only know what i was.  I don't know anything else."  Praise God, because He can show you exactly who you are suppose to be in this season of your life, step by step, day by day.  As situations and circumstances change in your life, you absolutely cannot continue being the same person.  You can't hold on to who you were, because God wants to change  you from glory to glory.  Every season of your life is rich with blessings, but only the new person can receive them.  These blessing are not for the person you were, they are for the person that God is producing for this season of your life.  He has something for you that only a certain caliber of person can receive, and God is transforming you into that person.

Parents

Those of us who love our children, are very protective over them.  When harm is done to them, we can become like a lioness, wanting to devour.  I say a lioness because as mothers we are extremely protective over our children.  That's good because I think it is an expression of who God is as a parent.  When harm is done to our child whether be through words or physical pain at the hands of someone else, not only does it makes us angry, it also breaks our heart.  It causes us great pain as mothers.  This week I had a painful reminder of what this feels like, but God has used this opportunity to tell me to think about what He must have felt as they beat, mocked and crucified His only son.  What I described about mothers above, is a characteristic that we get from God, so imagine how God felt.  It says in the bible that Jesus took our punishment for sin.  Knowing no sin, He because sin that we might become the righteousness of God through Him.  This is the exchange system of heaven.  We give Jesus our sin, He gives us His righteousness.  Praise God!  However, something else has come to my attention today.  I always wondered why God chose to give us forgiveness this way, I wondered why he chose to have His son go through all this so that we could be in a right relationship with Him.  Why didn't He do it some other way that did not involve His beloved son going through such pain. God does provide reasons for this in His word, but I want to add something very unique to this, I believe this is inspired by the Holy Spirit.  God's wrath towards sin was fully poured out on the cross, this needed to happen because God is Holy and cannot tolerate sin.  His wrath had to be fully poured out so that we could have forgiveness.  His wrath was fully satisfied, but I believe that it was necessary for it to be His Son in order for His wrath to be fully poured out, because it wasn't only our sin but sin against His son who was completely innocent.  I believe the fact it was God's child, provoked and made possible for that wrath to be fully poured out.  It had to be His child because of the relationship between a parent and child and it was the only relationship that was going to provoke the wrath of God to be fully poured out.  As your child goes through pains in their lives at the hands of others, allow your feelings to turn you to God and what He went through for you.  And remember Jesus was completely innocent and without sin, our children are not innocent as much as we would like to believe that they are:

Psalm 51:5

5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me

We are all born into sin.  Our children are no different.  But our protective heart towards them reflects God's heart so let it point you to God.

Stop trying to impress others

I've always talked about how we are all uniquely designed to fill God's purpose for our lives.  That purpose is custom designed to fit us.  It's like the finest taylored suit, if you will. God created us to be something very specific

Isaiah 29:16

New King James Version (NKJV)
16 Surely you have things turned around!
Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay;
For shall the thing made say of him who made it,
“He did not make me”?
Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it,
“He has no understanding”?

I bring this up because the thing that most stands in the way of being what God created us to be is "trying to impress other people".  Having a mindset where you want to impress other people robs you of your purpose because it keeps you from being who you were designed to be.  I encourage you to examine the thoughts that pop into your head as you are getting dressed, cleaning house, doing your hair, getting something done at work.  See if "trying to impress others", pops up anywhere in your thoughts and if it does bring it into captivity to the obedience of Christ, Jesus by telling it to "go" in the name of Jesus.  This thought is a robber to you, it robs you everyday of your purpose.  This must be pulled up at the root, it is like a weed.  This thought must not produce fruit in your life anymore if you are to live life as God designed you to.  You must treat this type of thought pattern like the fig tree that Jesus cursed, look below:

The Fig Tree Withered - Mark 11

12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.”

20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”

We need to respond to this thought pattern of trying to impress people the same way Jesus responded to the fig tree:

Matthew 21:19

New King James Version (NKJV)
19 And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away.

We need to say to the thought pattern of "trying to impress other people" let no fruit grow on you ever again" in the name of Jesus "be dried up from your root" in Jesus name.  This thought pattern is a weed that permeates every aspect of your life, robbing you and robbing me.  Every time, this thought pattern springs up, you need to speak to it and say "let no fruit grow on you again, be dried up from your root", in the name of Jesus.  You will see this thought pattern start to dry up and cease from producing fruit in your life.

Get coached to your breakthrough

There is something in my spirit that is getting stronger and stronger.  Jesus wants to heal us! And He want to do it now!  This is a continuation from the following blog post:
Jesus is willing, are you ready?

The power of speaking a word. Look at the scriptures below:
Matthew 8

Jesus Heals a Centurion’s Servant

5 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, 6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”

7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.

I want to express the importance of the words that this centerion used.  As we go into the New Year speaking the word of God over all the things that trouble us,  there is a directness that needs to be used, because the weight of the authority of Christ is in  the directness of our speech.  You have to be able to say "Cancer I command you to "Go" in the name of Jesus (period).  Poverty, I command you to "go" in the name of Jesus (period).  Look below:

16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,

I believe the word in which He used to cast out the spirits was simply "Go!"

The Centurion implies that whatever is under the authority of Jesus, when Jesus says "go" it goes, when Jesus says "come" it must come.  No where in the bible do you see Jesus actually using the word "go" when healing someone?  You don't see it.  However, God wanted us to hear this part of what the centurion said.  He implies something about Jesus that God wants us to receive.  Matter-a-fact I believe this is the lesson that God wanted us to get from this.  Until now, I never understood why the centurion said this or what he meant.  I never even understood what was the big deal about it, but now I do!  Praise Jesus.  I believe Jesus want us to understand through this centurion the importance of the authority of Christ over our problems and what words to use in order to exercise that authority.  This is good coaching!  I also want to highlight that it was the centurion that spoke the words.  Jesus marveled and said
“Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you".
What is God trying to say to us in these versus.  I think He is trying to tell us we need to starting getting some things out of our lives by simple telling it to "go" in the name of Jesus.
